Attended as we were going to a wedding could do with more atmosphere in the bar area felt a bit boring.

Fantastic hotel in a good location with excellent spa and wellness facilities! Comfy be and lovely shower!

Hotel was nice . Said 24 hour bar and it wasn't said 24 hour room service and it wasnt ringing though to get room service was a farce. No one answered for ages. Bar closed early like ghost town from 7pm in the hotel

Rooms are all different, sometimes you gonna get water and shower gel , sometimes you won’t. Not consistent

I recently spent a wonderful spa break at the Mercure Norton Grange Hotel in Rochdale with my sister to celebrate my birthday weekend. We opted for the one-night dinner, bed, and breakfast package and stayed on the 15th of September, 2024. From start to finish, our experience was exceptional. We arrived around 2 pm and were checked into a spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed room, complete with a comfortable double bed, complimentary snacks, and toiletries. The robes and slippers provided were a lovely touch, making us feel instantly pampered. If you require a different size of robe, the spa staff are happy to accommodate, though you’ll need to leave something like your house or car keys as a deposit. After settling in, we changed into our swimwear, robes, and slippers and made our way to the spa centre. The waiting area was inviting, with a café offering free water and other treats. The calming décor immediately set the tone for relaxation. We both booked a 25-minute back and shoulder massage. Tammy, the therapist who did my massage, was fantastic! The atmosphere in the massage room was soothing, with soft music playing in the background and a refreshing sort of minty essence oil that Tammy released, setting a relaxing mood. She expertly worked through the tension in my back, and the experience was so good that I nearly fell asleep. Post-massage, we spent time at the pool. I enjoyed reading by the poolside, followed by a swim, and we made good use of the hot tub. The hot tub is perfectly situated to overlook the outside, and as it was raining, the contrast between the warmth of the water and the cool rain outside made it a truly serene experience. The spa also has a steam room, sauna, and other facilities that, fortunately, were not too crowded during our visit. Later, we got ready for our three-course dinner, which was included in the package and a fantastic deal! Drinks were not included, but they were extremely affordable. For our meal, we had Cajun wings as starters, followed by a pizza and Cajun chicken burger for mains, and finished with a delicious tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert. The food exceeded our expectations in terms of flavor and quality, especially for a hotel restaurant. The dining area was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. One minor drawback was that our room was located directly in front one of the lifts, which could be a bit noisy, especially for light sleepers. However, after the indulgence of the spa and a comfortable night’s sleep in the high-quality bed, we barely noticed the noise and slept soundly. The following morning, we headed down for breakfast, which was a standard continental buffet. There was a great variety of options, from fresh juices and coffee to baked goods and bread, all of which were fresh and delicious. We certainly enjoyed the meal! Stayed here for one night whilst visiting family and the grounds are lovely, but the room didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel and I was very disappointed in the state of the bathroom. The shower head was corroded and black and I had to complain to front desk, as I definitely wasn’t going to shower my one year old with it. They said they were fully booked so couldn’t change my room. As an alternative, I suggested that they change the shower head and the staff member said they would speak with the general manager. She came back and said he agreed to change the shower head and they did so relatively quickly. I also mentioned that I thought the sink may have been leaking. The manager checked it and said he didn’t think so, perhaps the water was from cleaning, but he put a towel behind it just incase. In all honesty, that’s the type of resolution I expect from maybe a 3 star hotel. I would say this initial experience dampened my stay. I was worried about what else might not have been cleaned.

Hi everyone! This is me and my husband at our wedding just a few days ago! I have absolutely no words at all to explaining how fantastic the team are at Mercure Norton Grange Hotel and Spa. I got married on Saturday 20th July 2024 and I have been so looked after by Rama, Charlotte, Mark, Matthew and all the waitresses and waiters. I couldn’t fault a single thing. The food was the nicest food I have ever had in my life, all of our guests were made up. Rama, you are an exceptional manager and you have a heart of gold. You went above and beyond and I will never ever forget you. Charlotte, our wedding planner of the year 2024 award winner! You are incredible. I feel like I’ve known you for years. You are so enthusiastic, passionate and caring about every couple you work with. I will absolutely miss you. Thank you for helping to build the most magical day of my entire life. Mark is an incredible guy! And so is Matthew! The pair work so hard! They made me and my family feel like royalist! The team here are gold standard. I wish I could do it all over again! We had our wedding at the Norton grange. All I can say is absolutely amazing. After a big hiccup a few months before our big day (other wedding coordinator) no fault of Charlotte at all she and Rama was soon on sorting it out and it was resolved within 24 hours. Charlotte is absolutely amazing. Put me at ease every time I had a freak out over the smallest of things she made the planning and organising so much easier. She was always at the end of the phone no matter what day, even on her days off. This lady is superwoman.The day of the wedding went so smoothly. Charlotte and Rama was always checking in to make sure everything was ok. The food and service was fantastic. Our guests couldn’t say enough about the food. Myself and my husband can not thank you enough.

We have stayed at Norton Grange before and had a wonderful experience, but this time was completely different. The spa treatments and facilities were top notch but the experience went downhill when we went down to the restaurant for dinner. For starters we couldn't be seated in the restaurant as there were two birthday parties, so the hotel had put tablecloths on some of the small tables in the bar area. Our table was directly in front of the temporary reception desk and the front door, through which the stink of cigarette smoke wafted regularly. It was also situated about 20 feet from the bar. The table next to us had leftover food on the tablecloth and dirty cutlery & wine glasses, it remained like this the entire time we were sat there. The service was abysmal - after being seated we were not offered anything to drink and left sat at the table with our menus. We had to ask a waitress serving another customer to take our order. After waiting a further 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive, my wife had to go to the bar and ask where our bottle of wine was. It arrived shortly after this with no glasses. After waiting another 15 minutes I had to go to the bar to ask for two wine glasses. Three hours later we managed to finish our meal and I was told that I should pay at the bar. The staff then tried to charge me for the orders at two other tables including our own. All in all a terrible experience in the restaurant and judging by the amount of complaints coming from people on other tables around us, not an isolated one.
