I had a lovely dinner at the restaurant of the Grand hotel. The restaurant is cosy, with a nice fire place - perfect for winter evenings. The food was tasty and staff super friendly. A very quiet restaurant, out of the beaten tracks.

From the welcome to the departure the service was warm and welcoming. Our rooms were beautifully appointed. Lovely spacious bathrooms with excellent branded products. The linens, pillows and towels were amazing. We had dinner and breakfast and they were both perfectly executed. Delicious and well presented on the plate with the freshest of ingredients. Mandy and her staff hit the right notes of friendliness and professionalism. I will recommend this little gem to all and will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

What a wonderful stay we had at the Grand Hotel and grand it is! Every detail has been carefully thought through and curated to make guests feels right at home and wrapped in luxury. The hosts and staff were equally wonderful and we are looking forward to returning soon. Andy & Sonja, Knysna

This hotel was the last stop on our 10 day road trip and what a treat it was! The rooms are beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff are attentive and lovely. Attention to detail in everything they do, from the hot water bottle in your bed at night to lighting a fire outside just for us, so we could have a sundowner at the outside bar. Mandy, the owner, is incredible, warm and hospitable, and has the best suggestions of where to go in the area. Mandy you are an absolute diamond! Although this is a 5 star hotel, it’s definitely not pretentious and we loved our time here.

We love to visit The Grand Hotel on a Sunday for tea/coffee and scones as we are from Robertson. The ambiance, the cosy fire in the lounge, lovely music and attention to detail add to the wonderful experience. It is such a privilege to have this 5 star gem right on our door step.Mandy and husband, the owners, are exceptional warm hosts and do their utmost to please and welcome guests.

What a genuinely lovely experience - great hosts in Mandy and Trevor. One of the best rooms I have stayed in with a great mattress. Do try the restaurant - amazing Karoo lamb chops and a super wine selection. They paired with some wine farms so the wine we liked was delivered the next morning.

Amazing hotel, food and staff, will definitely go back! The rooms are spacious and very charming, close to wedding venues and wine farms. The owners are friendly and accommodating. The pool area is spectacular and it feels like you’re in Greece!

We were in the honeymoon suite, arabella, and the room was incredible, the bed was super comfortable, there’s a fire place in the room, as well as the bathroom, which has a huge bath. The fittings and accompaniments are perfect, modern and you won’t find yourself lacking anything. The kitchen has brilliant food, and the wines that accompany it are unbeatable. The staff are super attentive, especially Paul, he’s brilliant and attentive. Trevor and Mandy, the owners, are so great in terms of hospitality, heart and soul! We were recommended some small boutique wine farms and trips, (those I’ll leave for you to find out) and I can truly say that some of those experiences are so beautiful and unique that if I went back again, I’m sure it wouldn’t be the same. I can not recommend this place enough, it feels like home on every level! Do yourself a favour, if you do go to Robertson, get to the grand Hotel!

Beautiful hotel! The decor is very tasteful and the courtyard with the swimming pool is very peaceful. My room was large and looked like a photo shoot for a home magazine. Very friendly staff too. The breakfast restaurant and food was A1. I would definitely go back!
