Villa Otilia

We had a lovely stay at Villa Otilia. Eric and Sylvie are magnificant hosts. Eric will guide you through the region and Sylvie makes the most wonderful food. We most definitely recommend to stay here in the oasis in la Provence verte.

This is not a hotel, not an airbnb, not a villa, but a bed and breakfast. With this particular property, the owners have very strict rules that guests should adhere to. These rules were not explicitly stated anywhere in the property, nor in their listing. If these rules were already presented before confirming our booking, we would not have stayed here. These limitations led us to a confrontation where the owners told us that it would be better for us to leave. We have decided the following morning to leave as we were afraid of the way they were speaking to us and to preserve our mental health. We were so afraid that during the first night we slept over the bed, didn’t go under the duvet afraid to mess it up or that we might get reprimanded for anything else that we’d do next. We couldn’t sleep that after the discussion at midnight, we looked for a hotel online until 3am and left the property at 9am the next day. Also, every time we go in and out of the property, we had to inform them so they can open the gates, they don’t give a key to the guests, you wouldn’t be able to go out as you like which is a massive restriction of freedom and not part of the chart of chambré d’hôtes rules. These “rules” are not “rules” which the owners kept emphasizing. They’re quite implicit with these house rules. For them these are things a normal “educated” person would have instinctively. For me, the way they speak to us was very patronising and hostile.

Het was in 1 woord geweldig, wat een prachtige paradijselijke plek! Echt alles was perfect: * echt Frans ontbijt met altijd vers fruit * mooie kamer * héérlijk zwembad * geweldige mooie tuin En echt SUPER fijne eigenaren, met leuke tips voor een uitje en héérlijke restaurants!

Superbe villa situé au calme, au milieu de la verdure, vue panoramique à travers les collines et immense piscine à dispo. Les différents gateaux délicieux faits maison par Sylvie laissent un souvenir inoubliable du petit déjeuner. Notre guide Eric est excellent quant aux programmes proposés des journées. Sans oublier Lilou, leur adorable chien joueur qui aime galvauder tout près de vous. Sylvie et Eric, un très grand merci pour ce séjour inoubliable et réellement sympathique. Cette villa d’hôtes a recommandé dès lors de votre passage à Rians.

Nos hôtes sont merveilleusement sympathiques et attentionnés. Nous sommes arrivés en clients et repartis en amis ! Tout est parfait : les chambres , petit déjeuner , le dîner , le jardin . Et la petite chienne Lilou nous a bien amusés . Merci à vous .

Wij mochten 5 dagen en 4 nachten genieten van een luxeverblijf te Villa Otilia. Deze B&B is voorzien van een mooi zwembad in volle zon en een zeer proper onderhouden tuin met verschillende ontspanmogelijkheden en een schitterend zicht op het glooiende landschap rond dorpje Rians. De ruime kamers zijn erg proper onderhouden (zelfs de handdoeken ruiken lekker!), worden dagelijks opgemaakt, zijn geluidswerend, en het hele huis wordt met goede airco gekoeld. Eric en Sylvie zijn een uiterst sympathiek en toegankelijk gastkoppel die zorgen voor een ontspannen verblijf en met hun kleine tips steeds meedenken om optimale dagbestedingen in de VAR regio te bekomen. Ook Lilou, de aimabele hond des huizes, die af en toe dag komt zeggen, helpt mee aan de leuke huiselijke sfeer. Het ontbijt is niet heel uitgebreid maar wel voldoende afwisselend en erg vers (e.g. vers fruitsap en gesneden fruit). Wij zouden er zo terug gaan! NB: Rians zelf is slechts een klein dorp met weinig faciliteiten, dus voorzie steeds de auto te moeten gebruiken voor boodschappen, restaurants, ... In nabije omtrek (+-15 min) zijn wel meer opties.
