Angela Downtown Hotel

My original hotel was on the sea front. In hindsight not the best location when compared to the Angela Downtown. You have to walk about 300 yards from tour drop off point to hotel as road too narrow for big busses. Plus at hotel location traffic is one way. This actually is an advantage as traffic volume very low so extremely quiet and peaceful. If the walk difficult eg large amount of luggage there is a taxi rank at tour drop off point. The hotel faces north so sun on the front and rear all day. The front has a lovely patio area shaded by trees, and the swimming pool to the rear is a sun trap and well enclosed. Also very peaceful. The location is excellent as 5 to 10 minutes from beach areas and about the same from medieval city walls / entrance. Directly across the road 20 yards to the right of the hotel is a pedestrianised street with lots small bars / restaurants and some shops. Lively but not rowdy and you cannot hear anything from hotel even sitting in the patio area in the evening. There is a very well stocked local (not tourist) supermarket on the corner as you enter this street. At the the end of the street is a busy pedestrian thoroughfare running parallel to the road the Angela Hotel is located packed with shops, bars and restaurants. In short the location is superb. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The rooms tidy and airy. There is a well kitted out gymnasium in the basement with showers / WC /changing facilities etc. You can also leave your luggage there before departure. It is safe because reception watch it. The breakfast is excellent catering for continental and say British tastes. There is a variation from day to day on selection. The cooked food is also prepared in small batches so it is always fresh and breakfast is available from 7 until 10.30 or 11am . The staff are very attentive and you never see a dirty table waiting to be cleared. This brings me to the best part of the hotel which is the staff. From reception to kitchen, housekeeping and maintenance everybody is so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The service is also genuine. From my arrival and check in experience with Anna (who is the only person whose name I got) to departure I was treated like royalty but in a very respectful manner. Name badges would be useful for a specific member of staff recognition however all I can comment is that everybody was brilliant. Even the night reception with his polite wake up knock on the door in the morning when an alarm call was requested. There are so many positive things to say about the staff that a review does not do it justice it has to be experienced to be believed. I have stayed in many top class hotels during travels with business and the Angela Downtown Hotel in Rhodes will always be fondly remembered especially the staff for making a great holiday. There are many other things to say such as if want a drink in the evening there is a quiet bar /lounge area around entrance lobby that reception staff man

so we came here for a family holiday in april 2025 for a week and it was really good! when we got here the receptionists were really helpful and nice, the rooms are clean too the only problem in the room was probably the shower it could probably do with some TLC but other than that it was really good. the breakfast food is enjoyable with a good selection of food, the staff in the food bit were also really nice. the pool around back is also a good area to just chill out the sun hits round there pretty much all day, the pool is nice and clean too. overall the hotel is really good i rate it an 8/10.

This was an okay stay we stayed here for one night on our trip from Türkiye. The hotel reception guy was a little bit unapproachable, and didn't seem very welcoming, we knew we couldn't check in until 3pm, but thought wed ask just in case and asked if we could leave our back packs in a secure location, we were told downstairs near the gym which was very open and a public space so nowhere secure. We later retuned to drop our bags off and to check in, we had realised that we'd already paid for the hotel, and paid again at the hotel, when questioning it, the lady was very helpful however the young man was very disgruntled about this and thought it wasn't his problem or his fault. The room facility was okay for one night, we had a comfortable sleep, wasn't too noisy considering where the location was. Checkout was easy and simple, the breakfast was very simple and was just a continental breakfast. we asked again if there was a secure location to leave our bags, as we weren't leaving until late afternoon. to be told the same thing down by the gym. we ended up leaving our bags at another hotel which was much more welcoming and friendly. probably wouldn't stay here for more than one night. we didn't use the pool so have no idea on that.

Hotel itself wasn’t too bad, newly refurbished so was modern, big bed, fridge. Etc. bathroom door didn’t shut and shower head didn’t work unless propped open. Hotel was clean, bed made everyday and fresh towels, check in and checkout process was easy. Breakfast was your average continental, not much choice and sometimes cold. Bar is open just have to ask reception, reasonably priced. Not many loungers by pool so we went to the beach everyday. Good thing is it’s close to everything, only 10 mins to new and old town, the beach etc. lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Although we booked through jet 2 and they dropped us at end of road and we had to walk to hotel but wasn’t too far, not sure if it’s the same for every airline Overall nice hotel and you do get what you pay for.

Excellent location, the hotel was in the centre of everything you needed for your holiday, beaches were great and I only 10 minutes away from hotel , restaurant bars and supermarkets were close by and did not need to take a taxi anywhere. The hotel itself was lovely, rooms were cleaned and towels changed everyday. The domestic cleaner was lovely and always smiling. We had the double superior room with a massive bed with balcony overlooking the pool, If you like the sun then this is the room for you, we had great time just chilling at night of having our morning coffee out there, In the room there was a kettle and coffee,tea sugar and milk were provided. In the bathroom there were toiletries supplied for us. The shower was great. There was a massive mirror also in the bathroom. Breakfast was great,an excellent range of of cereals,breads,pastries, if you wanted a cooked breakfast there was different kinds of eggs, pancakes,bacon,beans,sausage and many other .choices They also had a range off meats and cheese, olives and also different kind of jams. The hotel staff were amazing,the ladies who cooked the breakfast were lovely and very friendly, always said good morning. Reception staff were friendly and had a great range of knowledge about Rhodes especially Dina she was so cheery always chatting to the guests, she chatted with us everyday and had a great conversation with her on our last day .. . They were all very helpful In finding you trips and where to go to get them.

Fantastic holiday. Rooms were cleaned and bed changed every day. Great location. Food good as we only had breakfast. Friendly staff. Gym if we wanted to use it Pool area clean although we didn't use it. Spent time at beach and excursions Balcony was great for chilling out at night. Restaurants supermarkets and bars close at hand. Beach was 5 min away from the hotel
