Marathon Hotel - All Inclusive

Grumpy reception staff and bar staff. No cocktails or long drinks until 6.30pn. Watered beer and wine until then. Food average. Not catered for late arrivals. Beach towels 20e each deposit but not allowed to change daily. Definitely not 4 star. Overall average at best. !

Was here with my mother and daughter for 2 weeks and it was AMAZING! We usually don’t like all-inclusive resorts because they’re always crowded and crazy – but this was everything except that. The food was great (we don’t eat meat but there were still lots of options), the entertainment guy was so much fun haha, and all the staff members were so sweet and kind without being pushy (if you're from Sweden, you know what I mean 😉). Lots of nice beaches within a 10-minute walk and a great location for shopping. Overall, one of the best places we’ve ever been to!

The Marathon Hotel truly lived up to all the previous excellent reviews and my family had ten lovely days there. The Hotel is medium-sized so naturally has a more friendly feel to it and is well appointed. The rooms are comfortable with good sized beds, good bathrooms and all come with a fridge and excellent, easy-to-use air conditioning. The dining room offers good quality food with a good range of meals for all tastes with the most friendly and hardworking Filipino waiting staff: they were truly wonderful! The main pool is lovely and is perfect for non-swimmers as there is no deep end and there are plenty of sunbeds; I would recommend getting down to the pool before 9 am to get the best ones. There is an outside bar next to the pool which is open from 10am to midnight and is great with friendly staff. I would especially like to thank Asterid who listened patiently while I practised my limited Greek and helped me out with my pronunciation: he is hardworking and a real asset to the hotel! There is entertainment every evening and there is pool aerobics in the morning and water polo in the afternoon. The Entertainment guy Max works hard and is very good with the guests. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk from the hotel and the beach is less than ten minutes walk. It is a stone beach and you can hire two sunbeds either side of a parasol for €15. There are bus stops a few minutes away where you can go to Rhodes Old Town and Lindos. The hotel reception has timetables and can tell you the correct bus stop for both. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and all the guests we spoke to were having a good time too. To the staff and management I would like to say thank you for all your hard work, it really made our holiday!

Had a great week here, nice clean hotel. Would certainly come back! 🙂 different selection of foods each day, except for breakfast. That was the same, each day. Entertainment guy was a good laugh. I always find hotels never advertise whether their rooms have an iron or not, but generally do. But the rooms here aren’t equipped with an iron. But if you ask at reception, they will provide you with one. Also cocktails and certain spirits aren’t served throughout the day, but from 18:30 - 23:00. Again I think it’s just worth noting as, it wasn’t something we was aware of. And it may be insightful for others. Overall was a really nice stay!

If you have mobility issues, I would suggest you go to another hotel. There is only one lift on the outer part of the hotel. The internal part of the hotel has no lift and steep internal stairs. There are external steps that are not too steep, but have no handrails. Saying that we had a lovely time at this hotel, the staff and the customer service given was impeccable. The staff are all pleasant and polite and give assistance even before you ask. I would go back to this location if there was more accommodating stairs and lift. They have entertainment put on each night. You can get kebabs and pizzas as snacks. Pizza is given out during the day and kebabs are given out in the evening. The food was an extremely good spread too. The cocktails in the evening are extremely sizeable too, so if you like a tipple this would be the place for you!

We had the most amazing experience at the Marathon hotel all thanks to the manager Vasilis, he helped us with everything we needed and made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was amazing with a pool at our footsteps and our own sun loungers. Always something to eat the at buffet, but we especially loved the fresh pizzas and gyros. Can not wait to return.
