Not impressed with this hotel. Check-in staff needed more training. Room was facing US 61 so traffic noise was notable. Requested "upgrade" to room on arrival, anticipating no change in charge and was not advised of change in charge. Fortunately, received notice from my CC of the charge shortly thereafter. Went down to correct charge but staff unable to do so, advised me to return to speak with a manager after 8 p.m. At that return, the afternoon staff said manager not available until after our planned checkout (8 a.m). Fortunately, I stopped at the desk to discuss with staff and was advised that she was the manager. She apologized that the staff had not advised us of upcharge and said she would adjust the charge. As we were on the road again, a new notice from credit card for a charge (not a refund) of $30.00+. Sigh, back to contacting them when possible. Breakfast however was nice with more selection than usual for a HIE. Room was adequate other than road noise.
