The bed is so comfy and the vibe is really chill and relaxing! Love the hosts and all their sweet pets! The rooms are huge and so spacious. Will definitely go back soon. It's the perfect retreat out of Bangkok. You can go surfing or walk the beach that's is just around the corner.

I booked the retreat after speaking to Aaron, the owner, as I wasn't sure what to expect. He sold it to me and it felt right, i.e. unusual, down to earth and professional, quirky, relaxing with the option to keep fit doing unusual classes taking you out of your comfort zone. Carol and Dennis are very helpful and great to talk to, and make you feel very welcome. I love the 'mini zoo' (Turbo the turtle, birds, reptiles and the friendly dogs!). I didn't have any transport but you can walk to the shops and the beach in 10mns, the Stay Cafe is 25 mins walk along the beach but you can borrow one of their bicycles should you wish. Nash does Brazilian Jui Jitsu and movement classes which are great even it you're a novice (which I was). The atmosphere is very laid back and good for the soul! Most people return to the retreat and I can see why.

Carol and her husband gave us such a warm welcome and took their time to show us around the place, in the middle of nature. They really did everything to make sure we felt good and had the best time. There’s a sport area with jujitsu and yoga classes available on demand, a big cafeteria where you can cook, have breakfast, or hang out and play billiards. There are also a lot of animals - Carol will take her time to introduce you to them if you’re up for it. The rooms are right in front of a beautiful pool. They’re spacious, the beds are super comfortable, and the decor is really well done. They also have free bikes, which we used to get to the beach, restaurants, and bars nearby. And if you need scooters, tips, or help getting around, they’re more than happy to assist. We will definitely come back 🙌🏻

I absolutely enjoyed my time at Tree Roots. Carol and Dennis are fantastic hosts who made my stay extremely enjoyable. As a continual traveller, sometimes a booking does not live up to its expectations. This was not the case for Tree Roots, I found the reviews and depiction to reflect accurately upon my arrival. The getaway is nestled in a quiet corner close to the beach which provided me a desperately needed getaway to relax and recharge. I quite enjoyed the peaceful mornings and evenings, taking time to listen beautiful birdsong of stormbirds and others. The library has a wonderful “old book smell” and thousand of choices, I only wish I had a longer stay! I will definitely be returning on my next trip!

I had a wonderful stay at Tree Roots Retreat! Carol and Dennis are fantastic hosts - warm, welcoming, and always ready to make your experience special. The retreat is a peaceful oasis, perfect for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. I tried Brazilian jiujitsu for the first time here. I also spent time with various animals, which added a unique and heartwarming touch to the experience. If you're looking for an escape to reset and recharge, I highly recommend Tree Roots Retreat! We went to this retreat last weekend. It was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, our host was incredibly hospitable, making sure we felt welcome and at home. The bed was unbelievably comfortable—I don’t think I’ve slept that well in ages! One of the best surprises was the abundance of complimentary treats, from snacks to unlimited coffee. This was a huge plus for a caffein addict such as myself. The entire place exuded tranquility, surrounded by peaceful nature that made it easy to unwind and recharge. It was the perfect escape, and I can’t wait to go back!

I booked the hotel (for four nights) as a compromise between where I needed to be and what I hoped would make my family happy. It turned into one of the nicest holidays we've had in years. Dennis and Carol were our hosts, and they were incredibly friendly and generous with their time. We had a good time patting the iguana with Dennis and Carol allowed us to meet their white boa constrictor, name of Tofu. Oh, sorry, the Hotel. Rooms were spacious, great bed, huge bathroom and even included a loft if you needed more space. Pool right outside the room and it was all just comfortable. Nine in the morning is sport with Nash and my daughter truly enjoyed it. To sum up: If you want the typical hotel stay, this may not be for you. It is not on the beach, and the small number of rooms means you probably won't encounter your future spouse. However, if you want to borrow a bike and pedal down to the beach and return to a quiet room at the end of the day, I can highly recommend Tree Roots Retreat.

Tree Roots Retreat is a gem for people looking for a weekend getaway to unplug. It is tucked into a field but still walkable to the beach, and my what a sight the sea was that weekend! The whole place has a distinct character with mix-and-match decor & furnitures, but they all come together quite well and the overall ambience is one of coziness. To me it feels like the summer version of curling up by the fireplace with a hot cocoa when it's snowing. The rooms are spacious with a huge bed, it is so comfy I could literally sink into it and disappear for a week! Each room also has a private "loft" which doubles as a reading nook. Don't fret if you forgot reading materials, they have a library there too! What makes the place standout the most though, isn't all of the above I've mentioned, but rather the hospitality and sincerity the retreat hosts - Carol & Dennis - show to each of their guests. What a wonderful pair! Highly recommend this place, and will most definitely be back!

I loved my stay here! Rayong is a gem of a city, with some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The retreat is wonderfully quiet and I had the best sleep I’ve had for a while here. I came here from Bangkok, so this retreat has been a true oasis for me. There are animals/plants/library/gym/ and more(!!) Carol and Dennis were amazing hosts and I will definitely be coming back.
