My mom and I stayed at the Rayne Best Western to attend a funeral in Crowley. Hotel was very convenient to the interstate to commute the 11 minutes to Crowley. Unfortunately, we had car trouble on the way into town and checked in late. The lobby was empty and the desk clerk was totaling or counting what I assume is her nightly work. She didn't acknowledge me for several minutes. When she finally asked if I had a reservation, she wasn't overly friendly. Not rude, but borderline unprofessional. I finished up check-in and went to my room. The lobby has a weird smell when you first walk in, but the halls on the 2nd floor are worse. Thankfully, the room didn't have the same mothball/stale carpet smell. The room was clean from the beds to the bathroom. Very clean. Beds were comfortable. We were woken up to a train at 6:30am. If we would have stayed on the other side of the hall we would have heard interstate noise all night. It was a rough nights sleep. Breakfast wasn't 5-star but normal small town hotel breakfast. Housekeeping opened our door at 10am after a short 2 knock warning. Checkout was at 11am so we were still packing and getting dressed. Next time we come to town, I'll try to the Days Inn. I wasn't overly impressed with BW, and there were more negatives than positives. I think customer service would have helped a lot.
