Hotel La Moresca

Disappointing policies and practices at La Moresca. We cancelled our trip from Boston the morning we were supposed to leave because my sister had emergency surgery the night before. Unfortunately, she did not survive. We received kind consideration and refunds from every other vacation provider, but not from La Moresca, despite the fact that they had the longest lead time, since we were not scheduled to stay until 7 days into our trip. Furthermore, I could tell from their website availability that they rebooked the room for at least one night of our scheduled stay, and possibly more. I contacted they immediately and followed up twice more and was told that their policy was to keep my full room tariff. I understand that a late emergency cancellation can hurt a small business, and that Italian law allows this practice, but this hotel did not offer the ability to make a reservation with full refund, and every other place was very kind and accommodating. If you have other options, I recommend that you book accommodations with a more caring and understanding place.

We stayed here for 5 Nights in room 9. The location is spot on for exploring Ravello, with stunning views. The 3 ladies who check us in/room service etc - incredible - they really make this hotel! Friendly, helpful and attentive in every way, nothing was too much trouble they gave us recommendations and must sees and we’re always on hand to help. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the views from the balcony incredible. We often enjoyed an apperol spritz too on the terrace before heading out on an evening. This trip was incredible and some places you must visit - Villa Cimbrone with the most incredible restaurant/Gardens and Babel Wine bar (food is 👌🏼.) a Swanky bar for drinks and live music Belmond Hotel. Tips - definitely get a taxi from the airport and be aware some drive very erratic. If you are visiting Positano/Amalfi etc the buses can get VERY crowded and rather unpleasant in the heat, take a taxi and ferry. Also the other areas aren’t live Ravello if you want authentic and quieter stay in Ravello. Will definitely be coming back here and staying at The same hotel. THANK YOU!!

Although the hotel is nicely decorated and centrally located, we had a very disappointing stay for the simple reason that we hardly slept. It pains me to write this review as the ladies behind the front desk are lovely and helpful. We stayed in room 3 which looks out over the square and coastline but has such ridiculously bad windows that it almost seemed like we were staying in the echo chamber of Ravello. The square in front is noisy from early morning till late at night (terrace of hotel next door). On top of that there was a wedding one night - hotel couldn’t help that but they should know the rooms are simply not insulated well enough for that. They said we were very unlucky, but having read a couple of reviews below, the sound issue is definitely not new. Wish I had read them before staying here tbh. If you’re a light sleeper and/or want to go to bed before midnight on holiday, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. Breakfast is good (with extremely friendly staff) and served on a nice roof terrace, but a bit more variation (especially as we stayed for 4 nights) would have been nice.
