Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Costiera Amalfitana

We stayed in different 5-star hotels along the Amalfi Coast for a week and this was our favorite of them all. The staff was incredible, the views were phenomenal, and the attention to detail was unlike any other. We were also upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the Coast and ended up canceling some of our plans outside the hotel because it was just too amazing to leave!

It would take perfection to get a 5 rating and it fell short for me at luxury status. We booked the deluxe sea view room with balcony (picture attached of expectation of room) and our room was different than advertised. It was still nice but the stone ceiling accent would’ve been amazing and warranted the nightly price. We did also have a safe issue which was fixed same day. Then the next day our friends had an issue with their safe as well. Luckily, we had each others functioning different days so we shared while we went sightseeing with scheduled guides. We did appreciate the welcoming and turndown treats left in our room. They were a nice touch. Another area needing improvement was breakfast. Service was slow. We also felt a bit insulted when on our last morning we were asked if it was our first breakfast there. The breakfast itself was good especially being able to order off a menu for hot items. Unfortunately, the same items were out on the cold buffet every day- no variation. As well as only having one attendant in this room to serve items in cases. We were never offered to have bread cut for us like others. Elevated service was hit or miss in general here. The Central Bar was a great place for cocktails although great service was lacking several visits. Grounds are impeccable with plenty of outdoor seating. Pool is gorgeous. Front desk staff super friendly. Concierge was very responsive before our stay to help arrange things to do during our visit. We did however have a mix up one night. We booked an hour stop in Furore before a winery tasting there only to find out from the driver that there was nowhere to walk around as there was no town square / shopping there. So we paid for an extra hour for the driver for nothing. Concierge should’ve explained more regarding Furore and the lack of walkable sightseeing. Location is great for walking to Ravello town center / square and to several dinner places just outside the square. We felt safe walking to and from dinner. If ever in Ravello again, I would stay here but because of these few mishaps at this level of luxury and pricing I can only give a 4.5 rating.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Caruso last year to celebrate a milestone birthday and loved it so much we came back to Ravello to visit again! You will be first fall in love with the beauty of the property and the view of the mountains into the sea, but what will capture your heart is the graciousness of the staff at Caruso. They are the heart and soul of the property! Rossella at the boutique is truly one of the most special people- she has a gift of making you feel welcome in a new place and that you have met a new friend forever. When it is time for apertivo (with the view you will never forget), the bar manager, Tommaso and his colleague Carmine, will make sure you have an incredible cocktail made with fresh local ingredients. We were there at the end of white fig season and Carmine made us a special cocktail he had created to celebrate ! The attention to detail and sincere kindness of the people wanting you to have the best experience really shines. We cannot wait to come back. ❤️

This review is long overdue. Our six-night stay in June was nothing short of a fairy tale. Despite our frequent travels, this experience stands as one of the most enchanting and unforgettable of our lives. The staff's dedication to excellence was unparalleled. From the attentive poolside attendants to the delightful late afternoon snacks at the martini bar, serenaded by a live jazz singer and a guitarist, every moment was sheer bliss. The room service crew catered to our every whim, while the housekeeping duo surprised us nightly with delectable evening treats. A heartfelt thanks to the ever-gracious receptionists, Claudia and Francesca C., whose warmth made us feel at home. And not to forget the incredibly amiable and accommodating bell desk duo, Alex and Adriano, who went above and beyond ( returning the scooter). And finally Ciro, the host, was the most welcoming in arranging everything and managed to perfectly navigate a glitch in one of our excursions. Their exceptional service wove a tapestry of unforgettable memories. Grazie from San Francisco!

Still the best hotel in the Amalfi !!!! Love Caruso, simply the best in our view. We have tried all the competition, Le Sireneuse, JK Place , Il San Pietro , but in truth none of them can match the perfection of Caruso. We are biased as Belmond is our favourite hotel group in the world but we always will return to Caruso to celebrate our anniversary. This year despite lost luggage at the airport, gifted and amazing hotel manager Lolanda & Francesca at reception sorted everything out with little fuss and lots of treats including a little parcel of necessities being delivered to our [upgraded] room. The team are just top class, every one of them, The concierge , Reception, the gents out front, Pool & Restaurant folk, all long time team members and passionate. A world apart from the many in the industry who find the job a toil. These guys are proud as they should be, and enjoy every day in paradise
