«Todo está bien excepto la cena ordenada ...it es una trampa si no estamos tranquilos lo suficiente para ver el caldo pot ...we ordenado en la carnada carnada pero salió fuera era pez! Nos esperaba la cena especial que se reservaba a principios de esa mañana. Sus explicaciones fueron porque una especie de carne de vacuno fue reemplazada por peces...El punto es que por qué no nos dijeron cómo nos sentamos? Pagamos el precio más caro para el menú pero tuvimos el pez común, si no nos dijeron ... la historia se acabó. ¡Tras las quejas, devolvieron @¥2000 por eso costó ¥9000 comidas costosas, es una comida pobre, ingredientes infrescos con método de cocina de precio, no valiosa en la descripción de un precio tan costoso!»

«Surprisingly nice onsen. Didn’t expect much as we chose this hotel which is near to the next day early whale watching tour. But the dinner and breakfast were very good. Room is big and clean. Pillow is bead-type and may not suit international travellers.»

«The location of the hotel is great if you drive. Otherwise, I can imagine how troublesome it is to get up to the hotel. Parking is free and plentiful. The buffet dinner has a host of alcoholic drinks to choose from; wine, sake to high ball. The range of food available makes it very difficult for one to choose but the freshly cooked tempura is my favourite. The shizen wing side has a nice view of the sea and setting sun. The hotel is quite dated but rooms are generally spacious and clean.»

«Lo elegí porque las aguas termales tenían buena pinta. Parecía haber mucha gente participando en las actividades de Shiretoko, por lo que había mucho ruido por la tarde y por la mañana, pero se calmó temprano en la noche y estaba muy tranquilo. «We love the ambience and everything about the hotel! Furnishing are very carefully and intentionally designed, really appreciated the overall cozyness we felt during our stay. Sadly we had to give the bathhouse a miss due to our schedule, but we enjoyed our stay regardless. The only confusion we had was the check in/check out timing — the hotel page says check out is 11am, but we got a phone call at 10am telling us we’ve exceeded the check out timing. Page also mentions check in by 6pm, but we were only able to arrive at 9pm+ due to our flight and car rental processes, hence we checked in multiple times with the hotel. They were kind enough to assure us to drive safely as we can check in any time.»

«The hotel is located a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. Although it’s a hostel, the room is spacious and includes a safe and a refrigerator. The bedding is clean. There’s no shower in the room, as this is an onsen-style hotel. There’s no kettle in the room either — a shared one is available on the first floor in a small kitchen equipped with a stove and a microwave. The only downside is the absence of a water cooler or filter for drinking water. You have to buy bottled water from a vending machine and pour it into the shared kettle. The view from the window is stunning. The air conditioner is AI-powered — it even talks 😁»

«Our third consecutive stay in Japan’s onsen scene brought us to Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort. Though labelled as a 3-star hotel, this resort is the very definition of an underrated masterpiece. From the moment we arrived, it became clear this experience would rival any five-star destination we’ve ever visited. Our room was a slice of paradise—spacious, serene, and offering a panoramic view of the breathtaking sea. Perfect for a moment of calm after a day of exploring. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the window, with its infinite horizon stretching beyond the blue waters. The bath experience was equally indulgent, with Dyson and Refa hairdryers in the public bath area. The soap and shampoo provided in the public baths? Luxurious, premium products that they also retail on-site. A small but significant touch that elevates this from your average onsen. Where do I even begin with the buffet? It was nothing short of culinary theatre. Imagine live cooking stations serving up dishes with the flair of a fine dining restaurant. From sashimi so fresh, it redefined how I think about lean tuna—the texture was almost reminiscent of beef!—to the incredibly generous portions of salmon roe. Each dish was top-tier, but the dessert station truly took my breath away. A unique pumpkin and sweet potato creation was the surprise highlight, and I couldn’t help but indulge in multiple helpings of the organic apple, crisp and fresh like it was picked that very morning. For fitness enthusiasts, there’s even a decent gym—a rarity for many onsen hotels. Meanwhile, the 24-hour lounge provides a range of delectable snacks, all of which are sold in their store. And though the prices may seem steep, the taste makes them worth every yen. The free daily scoop of Peter Beier ice cream was simply divine. Made with Hokkaido milk, the vanilla was already a showstopper, but the pistachio took the experience to another level. After this, it was impossible not to purchase their chocolate truffles—pricey, but easily worth the splurge. The experience extends outside the hotel, where an outdoor foot bath awaits with a view that will make you feel like you’ve entered another world. As long as the weather cooperates, this is an experience not to be missed. In short, Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort might officially be a 3-star, but in our hearts, it’s a five-star experience through and through. A perfect blend of luxury, nature, and comfort, it’s an onsen resort that deserves to be on every discerning traveller’s radar.»

«Perfect location. It was a 5-min walk from the bus station and less than 10 min from Roadside rest area. Room was spacious and it faced to the sea. Enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the balcony . Delicious breakfast and dinner. Food of western and Japanese style was provided. Dining area was big. Unfortunately, the staff didn't speak English. Need to spend sometime to communicate and they tried their best to give help anyway. Better to use the Google translate in this case. Check-in time was 15;00. There is no receptionist before that. For guests arrived before 15:00 can leave luggage in the hotel but guests had to bear the responsibility.»
