Almond Tree Hotel Resort

This is a quiet hotel which feels like a big bed & breakfast. We loved the pool especially because all the days we were there it was quite windy and not ideal to swim in the ocean. The hotel does not really have a full bar and if you want to eat you must schedule it in advance. Fortunately it is within walking distance of a couple of other restaurants and that is what we did on most nights. If you want some quiet downtime by the pool, this place is perfect.

Disappointed with this property. To me a resort would have a bar, poolside service, a restaurant open for most of the day and a degree of opulence in the rooms. This place is nothing more than a simple b&b with a swimming pool. You’re about a 10 minute walk to the nearest restaurants and given the security the houses have around them on that street I’m not entirely sure walking down there at night was the best idea. There seems to be a problem with a number of Corozal hotels not listing on the online booking sites but do persist and contact directly if something appeals.

Beautiful oceanfront setting for this guesthouse, especially if you have an ocean facing room. We spent a couple of nights at this place and had a really good stay. The service was great and we loved the free use of the bikes. The hotel grounds were beautifully manicured including the outstanding pool area. The location is great, just a 5-10min walk down a quiet lane to some good restaurants. It is possible to swim right ou in front of the place where there is a small beach and built up pier area, however the sea was a bit rough and full of sargassum while we were there. The room itself was disappointing – we expected so much more. The main complaint was that it was very dark with very little natural light. Even with all the lights on inside it was very dark. Although an oceanfront room, the room had no windows other than the glass doors, missing out on the spectacular views. Furthermore, we had to keep our curtains closed much of the time for privacy as the main walking corridor along the balcony and entry ways to the rooms was right outside the doors to all the rooms, thus not a private balcony view. People could just look right in as they walked by and if you were sitting in the chair outside the door, there wasn’t much room left over for people to pass. So in a nutshell – dark rooms and lack of privacy for the oceanfront rooms. Overall we had a good stay and would definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Small hotel with private beach, well maintained swimmingpool area. We were there off season therefore had the hotel almost to ourselves. Choose a seaview room, it is worth it. Small breakfast served at the hotel . Betsi, the owner, very friendly.

Little hotel, just outside of town but right on the beach, and with a beautiful garden and relaxing pool area. Very friendly owners. Spacious room. We did find the room cleanliness somewhat less than expected (a few spider webs, some dust, a sink well that had some hairs on it), plus shower pressure was somewhat mediocre (not so good for people with long hair). But judging from what we’ve seen, easily the best hotel in town and a comfortable place to stay for a night or two.

Un bel hôtel à Corozal avec les pieds dans l’eau. Nous ne nous y sommes pas baigné car l’océan était très agité. En revanche on a bien profité de la piscine et du joli jardin. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Bon petit déjeuner avant notre départ. Pas de dîner sur place mais il y’a plusieurs restaurants au tour.
