Tower of terror meets nursing home ! I made this reservation about three months in advance for 2 rooms. Despite having paid in advance, they didn’t have one of our rooms available, when we got there. Interesting. When I showed the young lady at the desk, my receipt for payment on my phone she said well that can’t be possible. We had our daughter her girlfriend planned for 1 room and my husband and me in the other missing room, so we didn’t really feel comfortable sharing the one we got. We took the cushions off the fold out couch and my husband slept in the car with the dog to keep him company. This place has recently been taken over by a “new owner”, but it needed a serious rehab. Before reopening. It was clean, but quite beaten up. I’m sorry I didn’t get a picture of the large paint patches missing from the bathroom door and trim peeling from many dings. Speaking of rehab, the hospital is about 100 steps away. This place obviously used to be the rehab center/skilled nursing unit. The dings are from wheelchairs! As a former nurse, it was a trip down memory lane to check in at the former nurses station and eat a modest breakfast in the patient dining area, which still looks like a hospital…ah the memories! Everything was so decrepit and lacking in any charm that it was actually like the Tower of Terror Disney ride. It was complete with Strange bumps in the night ( *******?), close up room window view of the self-serve gas station about 30 feet away, staff so busy on their cell phones they could barely talk no bedding for the extra fold out bed and absolutely terrible coffee. On a brighter note, there is a handy smoking area right outside the main entrance, and plenty of free parking because of all the abandoned buildings surrounding. Did I mention overpriced? It was the last 2 rooms -oops make that one room available for the gorge concert we went to, so what more could we expect?
