Edge Resort, Yogyakarta

The Edge Resort is a stunning place with amazing views. Surrounded by forest we experienced the peace and beauty of the natural environment all around us. Lying in the infinity pool looking out over the ocean was idyllic. The staff were friendly and helpful, always wanting to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The restaurant in an ancient Javanese house, served a range of both Indonesian and Western dishes to a high standard. The buffet breakfast was particularly delicious!

A Treasure Westerners have to discover We stayed here four days after spending the first half of the week doing the sights around Yoyakarta. The hotel is on top of the cliff looking over the miles long beach on the Indian Ocean. Highlights: the view, sunset, hearing the waves Chicken satay served at the table with your own BBQ of hot coals - fantastic taste Infinity pool which merges with the ocean Spacious and well equipped rooms each with a stunning view of the ocean Use Grab taxi to have a trip down to the beach and back and sample last nights catch if tiger prawns and mini crabs - or hire a jeep for a beach ride (it’s the dine thing!), or walk 1km to the viewing point and restaurants at Obelix

This is nice hotel with Breath taking view and nice small swimming pool. The restaurant serve wonderful Indonesian meals. You can see the sun set clearly from the restaurant or the pool since the hotel was located on top of a hill in a Clift 300 feet above the ocean. The only problem is (otherwise i will give a 5 star review) This hotel is located far away from beach or the nearest town (about 20 mins ride using a motorcycle). The road is not pave or asphalt and you need to spend about $15 for a shuttle car from the hotel.

maybe it's easy for you to find great front beach hotel in Bali. but if you travel around Java Island, it not easy to get one. based on my experience, edge resort yogjakarta not only one of the best front beach hotel/resort in Yogjakarta, but in Java!. but if you are kind of brand-chain hotel minded with all 5 start facility, just ignore my comment. edge resort not kind of it. but for the one who love to find the hidden gem, resort with an magnificent view, great service by a great people, love privacy and intimacy, appropriate breakfast, comfortable bed & pillow (you will sleep well!) this is the one. specially when its hard to find a great place along south sea coast of Java. the view is excellent!. thing that you have to note is, the way to find this place is a little bit "hard tough". after smooth trip to parangtritis beach, up into bukit paralayang batu gupit, you have get into narrow street just like in the forest, with a fairly rough terrain. make sure your car in a good condition. prefer you used a manual car. but believe me it will paid with amazing resort. the cost is whorted for what you get. the staff is excellent. until now they only have around 6 room with a small pool. but again, the view is unbelievable. the owner, an american old man is also amazing man :). the only problem in my opinion is the shower. but its ok. i know its not easy to bring so many facility to kind of rare place like that. overall, its amazing place! i still amaze how they can get such of beautiful place like that and bring all kind joyful there :)
