Grand Venetian

We stayed in a one-bedroom condo on a high floor in Tower 3 and loved it. We wondered about the positioning of the towers for the nightly sunsets, but T3 in February was perfect. Tower 2 is the "front and centre" tower and will be guaranteed unobstructed sunset views year-round. Can't speak for the other two towers, but perhaps they're ok year-round as well? Maybe check other reviews. The complex is beautiful, in a terrific location, with multiple pools and a full-service restaurant. The largest pool is cool -- perfect temperature! The smaller pools are way too warm IMHO, but that's just me. The beach is enormous but I can't review it as we spent more time at the pools. Overall, the Grand Venetian is the best of both the all-inclusive and condo living experiences. You can either bring your own drinks and food down to the pools or order both from the poolside servers. Special shout-out to Moy for his excellent service. One criticism: despite the signs, the chair-saving game is an issue at this property. We saw one group save chairs under one of the pergolas PLUS at the pool, despite signs inside the pergolas specifically forbidding that combination. My guess is that because so many guests are actually owners, and the place is run by an owners "board", they turn a blind eye unless someone makes a fuss. But folks, do better. We pay to be there, too.

I have been traveling to Puerto Vallarta every year for 13 years now and have stayed in numerous condos in the hotel zone and in the Centro. I always carefully read the reviews but this time I was literally fooled by 10/10 reviews! How is this possible that all reviews reflect a 10 when this unit is in such a bad condition? First, we were told that a security guard would be greeting us upon arrival. However no one at all was there to help us. Once in the condo, there was no instructions or information about anything to help us during our stay. Every other place we have been to would leave instructions. Pictures of the view of the surroundings on the beach side did not represent the reality of a large brown lagoon and rundown buildings. Carpets worn out and covered with stains. Couch worn out with stains. In kitchen, many old, dirty or broken ustensiles. Problem flushing the toilet and water leak on the floor near toilet. Insufficient lighting in room, kitchen and bathroom. Many dark flakes of dirt kept falling from the AC vents. No comfortable deck chairs. Only 2 small folding wooden chair on the balcony beach side and only one on the room balcony. No channels available on TV but only paying apps. Main phone is lobby to ask for a taxi was out of order. We had to walk many times all the way to the street to get a taxi. AND MOST IMPORTANT, the front door lock to our unit was defective and we had trouble locking the door, 5-10-15 minutes trying over and over again until it locked. We finally got a VRBO agent to come and see the unit. She was apparently surprised and took a dozen of pictures of all the deficiencies. We were so discouraged with the place that we left 4 days early but the owner just refunded us 2 nights promising to correct things in the future. No future for us in that unit or building! Finally, the week before coming to Grand Venetian, we rented through VRBO a nice small condo in the Centro. Everything there was perfect and wonderful, a true 10/10. Also Chris the VRBO agent for that condo was more than helpful and forthcoming. He called us and stayed in touch during our stay to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction!
