Tenuta del Barco

This could be wonderful but it is let down by some small - but important - touches. On arrival we were given a lovely bottle of wine. We got to the room to find that not only was there no bottle opener but there were no glasses. We talked to others and this was the same in for every room. Our room was large and spotlessly clean. It had been a cow shed in a previous existence but had been renovated to provide impressive hotel accommodation. The bed was enormous, with beautiful, crisp sheets. It was my first experience of a memory foam mattress; it was actually rather comfortable. The bathroom had everything, including a decent shower. Unfortunately the cistern screamed when flushed, a hideous noise so not to be recommended at night. It might have been October but the daily temperature was around 28degs C. There were no sun loungers. Anywhere. I accept that the pool was closed but a lounger in the courtyard would have been appreciated. No bar. Seriously! We were in the middle of nowhere but we couldn't get a drink. The cans in the fridge didn't quite cut it; a single beer a single cola; a single . . .etc, etc - you get the picture. No kettle. This was weird because there were two old fashioned cooking rings but no kettle. We tried heating water in one of the two enormous cooking pans but, apart from heating up the whole sink unit - and the taps - the electric rings weren't very efficient. There was a coffee pot but I don't think it had been used in a few years judging by the smell. You will need ear plugs because the silence of the rural night is split by the incessant sound of several unusual owls and then, at around 02:00 we were awoken by baying dogs, which was rather unnerving. However, in its favour, the staff are all very friendly and helpful; the restaurant is good; the wine from the onsite vineyard is excellent. If they would just address the tiny details it would be fabulous. Remember: glasses; bottle opener; kettle; bar and access to sun loungers. That's all you need to make it a good 4 stars.

We had booked a stay here for three nights through a travel agent. While the location is very nice and it’s close to the beach, the chalets look “tired” but clean, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is not cosy at all. The food is okayish but not special, the same applies to the breakfast buffet. The coffee was excellent. We also learned that the pool closes mid- September, something we were not aware of. The complementary wine tasting by (the owner) Nick was really nice.

Special mention to Noemi who could not have done more to make our stay wonderful. A private venu with beautiful rooms and wooden lodges. Only small downside was the pool was not available due to renovation ...however the staff put sunbeds up for us in the garden and really looked after us. Situated in a vinyard wine tasting is available with dinner Secluded, private and a bit out of the way but so lovely

I'd highly recommend this masseria. The rooms are cozy and come with very comfy beds. The staff is kind and attentive. They serve a generous and varied breakfast that includes some delicious Apulian local products. It is surrounded by beautiful vineyards where you can stroll at sunset time.

Ormai e'il terzo anno che soggiorniamo in questa struttura e per noi non esiste posto migliore per staccare la spina dalla quotidianità!Il mare della Puglia a due passi, il cibo delizioso, la piscina, il cottage nella pineta, la bellezza della masseria.. Ma cio'che piu'ti entra nel cuore e'la gentilezza ed i sorrisi di tutto il personale:il Direttore Antonio, Noemi x 2,Felice,Giuseppe,Erica!

Siamo stati qui per una cena e, oltre la meravigliosa location, ci siamo trovati benissimo sia per il servizio con un personale molto gentile e disponibile e sia per l’ottima cucina con prodotti locali e ben lavorati. Una piacevole esperienza, ci tornerei volentieri!

Ottima location per un ottimo relax sia in coppia che con i bambini, poi noi abbiamo festeggiato il nostro matrimonio proprio oggi di 2 mesi fa ed è stato tutto bellissimo e professionale lo consigliamo vivamente. Un grazie speciale al direttore e il suo staff .

Luglio 2013, luglio 2017, luglio 2023 e settembre 2024: quaterna! Ebbene si, siamo…masochisti. Siamo una coppia di 70enni e ci piace essere coccolati a 360 gradi grazie alla perfetta regia del Direttore, il mitico Antonio, che si avvale di una splendida squadra di assoluti specialisti. Un’oasi di pace con lo chalet nella pineta, la piscina, il mare caraibico a dieci minuti. La cortesia, la pulizia, l’estrema attenzione ai minimi dettagli; una cucina gourmet ogni sera diversa (piacevolissima anomalia rispetto alla stragrande maggioranza delle location), un’ottima scelta di vini. Ineccepibili nella location caratteristica, nel menù e nel servizio. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo! Si respira un atmosfera unica di assoluta tranquillità. Menù di terra accompagnato da un primitivo di Manduria cantina S.Marzano..!
