Myself and two friends were travelling around Scotland on a motorcycle trip and our last stay was in the Carlton hotel Prestwick, while the hotel itself is fine and the food is good, the room we were allocated, a "Triple room" was anything but. It was the smallest triple room I have ever seen, at best it was a small double. I informed the receptionist on duty of this and explained that the third bed in the room was a fold up cot bed, this for three adults is not acceptable, I was told the hotel was full and they had no other rooms available, which is fine but I did ask that they forward a suggestion that as the rooms are small in the first place that they not advertise triple rooms, I doubt if this will be taken on board.

NOT the best experience. I made a high tea reservation in advance. The service and food were seriously lacking. We arrived and one gal seemed to be our waitress. Then another brought out the tea and tiers of sandwiches and desserts. They LOOKED good but nothing on the tower was actually tasty. We had to ask the BARTENDER what kind of items were on the tower as there was no explanation by any of the staff. We were then truly ignored for the rest of our visit. There was a large party nearby and the waiter that was taking care of them, and other tables, we finally asked where our waitress(es) were for our check. He said HE was our waiter and we should somehow have known that. He did not so much as greet us, make his presence known, anything. We had no offers of refills for tea or any of the niceties one would expect when going for. I would avoid this place at all costs if you want any kind of special luncheon while visiting the area. A true regret and a complete waste of time.

Brilliant hotel with superb staff all round from housekeeping to reception waiters waitresses we stayed here for three nights in October on a dinner bed and breakfast deal room was a good size and bed very comfortable hotel was spotless dinner at night was delicious and so was breakfast would highly recommend

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Great service from Sam and Kirstie during our visit. Both are great ambassadors for the company. Amazing food by the kitchen brigade. Menu is varied and caters for all tastes. A well worth visit when in the area. Will be back for sure.

Restaurant staff were extremely rude, Room was covered in dust and the food was not how i expected it would be. Food was bland and not displayed well. When handed my food I was not warned that the plate was hot and they also sat the plate down very aggressively then walking away without asking me if I would like anything else.

This is my go to place for a relaxing overnight stay lovely rooms and excellent food polite staff deffo worth a visit I have been several times always enjoy its well placed for nice walk to shops hotel is part of a group and I have been to two others this one is best for me

My parents stayed here for their anniversary. My mum had been very ill and didn’t want to travel too far. As we had stayed there before we thought it was perfect for them. On booking we had excellent support from Brody, who made sure everything was put in place to support my Mum who has dementia. She chose for them the Elizabeth Ann Room, which my Mum said was absolutely beautiful, she said she slept so well and having the walk in shower was perfect for their stay. The food at dinner was excellent, they could not fault it, the staff were super professional and friendly . Breakfast was so tasty and plenty of it and room service was spot on. My Mum finds it difficult to get ready in the morning so they opted for breakfast room service. Many thanks again to those that I spoke to arranging, David and Sheila. My parents had a lovely time at the hotel, my many thanks to all at the Carlton.

Stayed here with group of golfers. Friendly and efficient welcome. Nice comfortable rooms. Only ate breakfast in the hotel but that was really good too. Three night stay where we were well looked after in comfortable surroundings. Nice job folks!

This hotel is what we remember from the days when service mattered, a great refreshing surprise from the pretentious establishments of the today that focus on gimmicks rather than service. Staff were well turned out, polite and attentive. Room very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Food was great including breakfast. Plenty of parking. THANK YOU Carlton!
