Very good location and close to the train station. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. Victoria park is just next door.

Bedbugs! We stayed for one night, arriving late before an early morning ferry. We were first allocated a room that didn’t have enough beds - a bit of an inconvenience, especially with tired children. But the staff at reception were apologetic and we were moved to another room. We climbed into bed for what was then a pretty uncomfortable nights sleep, and when we awoke soon realised why… the bed was covered in bedbugs!!!! We were in a rush for the ferry so reported directly to travelodge customer services rather than the hotel directly…. and were told we would be contacted by the ‘priority’ team within 48 hours… several emails / messages later and still no response (it’s been almost 5 days) . I certainly would not stay at this hotel until they have decontaminated!!!!

A very special thank you to all the staff at Travelodge Portsmouth City Centre who went out of their way to make, what was for me, a difficult month easier. The room was warm, comfortable and clean. All the staff were polite and extremely helpful and I would particularly like to thank Emma, Josh, Prashant, Razvan, Ron, and the room cleaners who worked so hard. I hope my wife and I will be back in the future to explore Portsmouth when I have fully recovered.
