Absolutely fantastic 2 night stay in this lovely bed and breakfast. Room was very clean. Amazing views sitting on the patio. Lesley and Robert were extremely welcoming making sure we were looked after. The breakfast was fabulous and will definitely book again

Blinkbonnie must be one of the cleanest, best run guesthouses in Scotland. A beautiful quiet position above Portpatrick, looking out over a lovely garden to the sea. Great breakfasts and attentive hosts. An excellent base for exploring Galloway and beyond. I can't praise it too highly!

We booked this guest house in order to enjoy the wonders of Portpatrick. Easy to locate and has its own parking too which is a bonus! The room was well laid out, spotless clean too. Breakfast was superb also! Both Robert and Lesley made you welcome and it was ideally located for the harbour and local sites. Certainly worth a visit and we would highly recommend it.

Excellent guest house. I popped in on the off chance we could use the toilet once we arrived even though check wasn't for another couple of hours. Met by Lesley who even though was on the phone and very busy allowed us to check in early as the room was ready. We booked 2 rooms and both were spotlessly clean and smelt lovely. The breakfast was also very nice and the lady who served us very polite and always checking everything was ok and if we needed anything else. We will definitely stay at blinkbonnie again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Our first visit to Portpatrick to visit relatives in the area, my partner and I spent a few nights at Blinkbonnie, and it certainly won’t be the last visit to this exceptional accommodation. The owners Lesley and Robert were so warm welcoming and accommodating. We slept well in the comfortable twin room as there wasn’t a vacancy for a double but it was lovely spacious room with ensuite. Our breakfast was hearty and delicious, and what I also call “cleanly” presented (not greasy, just lovely and fresh) In fact everything was spotlessly clean and the views from the front of the house… are simply stunning! We look forward to visiting again Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

As an experienced and frequent traveller both here in Scotland and abroad, I have to say that my experience at the Blinkbonny was simply bizarre. I have stayed before and knew what to expect. Clean, pleasant, nicely maintained gardens, cheap but cheerful. Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared to be confronted by an extremely drunk and aggressive owner. Admittedly, there was confusion of what time we had to check in and we did arrive late (1940 hrs), however one of our party had gone earlier to collect the keys. I personally arrived to be confronted by Robert (owner) who could hardly stand up or string a sentence together. After respectfully listening to him, I apologised for any inconvenience where he settled down. I went into my room to drop off my bag and on exiting my room he confronted me again. The lady owner was so drunk she entered one of out groups room ( for which she apologised when we left). The rest of our stay went smoothly however it was very awkward. Either Robert was ashamed if his behaviour or couldn't remember what he had done. Anyway, it was the platinum jubilee and perhaps the owners were enjoying the festivities a bit too much. I'm genuinely sorry to have to submit a poor review but feel I must inform future patrons as I myself always consult reviews before booking.
