Hotel Calá & Divino

At the end of a narrow dirt road through the forest lies scenic paradise perched on a red cliff overlooking endless beach lies Calá & Divina. We were welcomed by friendly staff which helped us the whole week with an amazing bespoke experience whom catered to our needs! Reception was very accessible the whole time via What’s App who was very helpful with our questions and arranging tours and transportation. Each day we had the same hospitable restaurant and bar staff which was nice to have a friendly familiar face to greet you at every meal! Our room was located as close as one could be to the beach with a clear freshwater stream running past. The close proximity was convenient and at night relaxing to fall asleep to waves crashing on the beach! I would request this room again! I could fill this review with just food because everything we ate was amazing! Don’t miss breakfast, it’s a real treat with fresh breads, cheese, cured meats, eggs your way, tapiocas, and one of our favorites was the grilled plantain and cheese sprinkled with cinnamon. Lunch is served in the beachside restaurant or on the beach. Dinners were so good we I could have tried something new every night however I had to repeat the Grilled Lobster and Pineapple Risotto served in a pineapple. After dinner we relaxed in front of our room on the lounge chairs staring up at the stars. There isn’t any light pollution so there was a countless amount of stars to see. What really drew me to this resort was the location on the scenic beach of Praia do Espelho, having a room right on the beach, and the resort only has 8 rooms so you will hardly see any other guests. There perfect combination for a relaxing, scenic, beach getaway! What will make me want to come back is the food, the staff, and hotel manager who met with us for some friendly conversation and to make sure our needs were met, thanks Mark!

Fantastic place! Perfect to relax. Excellent food (even if is a little bit expensive). Amazing breakfast. Breads and cakes prepared by themselves. Very fresh and delicious. Staff very kind and available for help and assistance. For sure I want to stay there again! I absolutely recommend it.

A place that you want to hide as a secret. Magic simplicity and incredibly good taste. Brazilian “wabi-sabi”. A place with soul. The kind of art that I value. People, silence and rest. This place is magic! The hotel is an amazing place to spend a few days or stay indefinitely! The food in their restaurant is second to none and people working there are amazing. As a starter or an appetiser, I would recommend the aubergine, as it is definitely a winner, followed by the sea food pasta or their rice with octopus as the main course. They are something out of this world. As a dessert, follow their advice and you won’t regret. I loved every single bite of everything I had. The hotel is located in this amazing beach called Praia do Espelho ( Mirror Beach), in Porto Seguro, just one hour and twenty minutes from Arraial D’Ajuda, in Bahia. The view from the hotel is just amazing and not possible to describe in words. You need to be there to understand how it feels. It is pure energy and if you are lucky enough to get a place in Calá & Divino for a few days, you will have great memories for a lifetime.

If you are looking for a luxury experience and an authentic taste of Bahia you must book a holiday at this hotel. There only 8 impeccable rooms, and they all have a marvelous view of the ocean and the beach. The rooms are well spread apart in a beautiful setting, with huge windows and very comfy terraces. The main restaurant area is lovely and service is perfect, with nice background brazilian music playing softly. The beach bar and restaurant have the best drinks I've had in Trancoso and the food is awesome, and the service extends to your own exclusive beach tent complete with chairs and a lovely thatched roof, not to mention the excellent massage service in a splendid location. There is no more exclusive and beautiful hotel in Trancoso, this is the real deal

We stayed for 5 nights and had a fantastic time. The hotel has amazing views, very friendly and professional staff and delicious food. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. The beach at Praia do Espelho lives up to its reputation as one of the most beautiful in Brazil
