Hotel Baia D'Argento

We spent 7 nights in this beautiful hotel whose staff were friendly and helpful. The room is sufficiently large, with a large built-in wardrobe (the anti-theft hangers that prevent you from hanging your clothes outside the wardrobe are a bit anachronistic), desk, minibar; a 230V socket for each bedside table and one near the desk, sufficient for 2 mobile phones and an additional device. Those who have more needs (photography, intercoms for motorcycle helmets, computers, drones, ..) will have to bring an electric power strip from home. The bathroom is not very modern but everything works as it should. Not very large but functional terrace with 2 chairs and comfortable drying rack for drying costumes, towels and small laundry. Air conditioning well ADJUSTABLE to the desired temperature. Varied breakfast, with a wide choice of sweets, which change daily. The savory menu is more static with only the choice of raw ham, cooked ham, cheese slices; the fresh ricottas are good. It's a shame that the juices are only freeze-dried; a 4-star hotel should offer freshly squeezed juice (even limiting one glass per person): oranges don't cost a fortune and juice machines are easy to clean nowadays. We only went there once for dinner and it was to our liking, the maitre Mario was very nice. The beach, included in the price, as can be seen from the photos, is not very large, but sufficient; the seabed is mostly sandy but muddy. The first day we went they told us that the beach doesn't open before 9:00 and the place has a "first come first serve" rule (it's right to set a time to avoid hotel guests going in beach early to reserve seats with your own towels). Only later, seeing several "reservations" of sunbeds with beach towels, and having asked for explanations, were we told that only those who stay for at least 8 nights have a fixed and reserved place. Good parking included in the price, covered by an anti-sun sheet. From the hotel in 15-20 minutes you can reach Port Santo Stefano on foot, along an illuminated pedestrian and cycle path.

Questa era il nostro terzo soggiorno presso l'hotel ed è sicuramente stato il peggiore. Dato che noi solitamente abbiamo usufruito delle suite, non sapevamo come fossero le camere matrimoniali. Prima di tutto, vorrei menzionare la mancanza totale di amenity kits; tanto che abbiamo dovuto richiedere shampoo e balsamo dato che non c'erano neanche quelli. Poi, la stanza, per quanto fosse spaziosa, aveva una televisione molto complicata da usare. Il personale alla reception è l'unico motivo per il quale do 3 stelle al servizio e non 1. La cena, con un'ordinazione molto confusionaria e delle porzioni un po' scarse a volte, è andata abbastanza bene. Il problema è stato il pranzo. Abbiamo ordinato 2 Ceasar's salads che erano veramente ridicole. 3 pezzettini di pollo, 3 pezzettini di pane e 3 foglie d'insalata. Mi chiedo se sapessero come si prepara una Ceasar's salad. Quando ci siamo lamentate, la cameriera ci ha guardato e risposto "boh". In quel momento mi sono veramente domandata chi me l'avesse fatto fare di tornare una terza volta. Non credo sia una risposta nemmeno da 1 stella, tantomeno da 4. Infine, tornate dalla spiaggia, e visto che avevamo già fatto il checkout in precedenza, abbiamo chiesto di andare in bagno per cambiarci. La stessa cameriera mi ha guardato e ha detto che avendo pulito ora il bagno, non potevamo usufruirne, lasciando una persona di 87 anni andare al wc di un casottino prefabbricato del parcheggio, e noi due a cambiarci nel mezzo del parcheggio con le macchine che entravano ed uscivano. Non ci era mai capitato di avere una simile esperienza, sennò sicuramente non saremmo più tornate. Peccato.

Un piacevole soggiorno , pulito , personale gentile ed un ottima cucina. Comodo anche come posizione perché vicinissimo al centro e con una bella vista sul mare .La colazione è ' buona , l'arredamento e' un po ' datoto ma ci si dimentica facilmente grazie a tutte le altre qualità.
