Kowie River Guest House

This was a 3 night stopover in Port Alfred on the Eastern Cape Coastline’s Kowie River. We were warmly greeted by Owners Graham and Dieter on our arrival and shown to our lovely accommodation which included a private patio overlooking the pool and garden area which borders the banks of the Kowie River. Our very comfortable self catering accommodation with good facilities including a gas weber on the patio , had all the frills of a four star venue ! We were thrilled to hear from Graham that we could order a hot-plated full English breakfast with fruit yoghurt and extras including cuppachino for an additional cost to the accommodation and this would be delivered to our patio by two friendly and efficient staff between 8-9am ( ordered the day before by 6pm ). We so enjoyed starting our summers day with their delicious breakfast while enjoying the view from the patio, watching the activity on the water. A most enjoyable 3 nights at Kowie River Guest Lodge to chill, read and explore the area and sample the delicious dinners on offer by various restaurants recommended by our charming hosts Graham & Dieter. We can highly recommend this well positioned accommodation to those visiting Port Alfred. Thanks for your great friendly and efficient service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay 🤗

It lived up to our high expectations. Will certainly stay there again in future. The rooms were comfortable & the private veranda with a lovely view was perfect for breakfast.

What a nice experience. The hosts went out of their way to be helpful and kind. The breakfast was excellent. Very good location next to the river. Everything was immaculately clean and neat. The house and room is beautiful with attention to detail. We fully enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend this beautiful guest house.

Only able to stay one night but will definitely be back for longer next time. Beautiful location overlooking the Kowie river with bird spotting opportunities from the veranda of the delightfully decorated room. Opportunity to have a braai on the veranda if you want to, and finish off the stay with a sumptuous breakfast.

The only complaint one can have is that there was nothing to complain about. The hosts are genuine and friendly and it does not feel like they are acting. They do everything possible to make you feel welcome. Second time I have stayed there and they will remain my first choice.

Really enjoyed staying here in a beautiful location with excellent hosts, Fabulous breakfasts, recommendations on places to visit including the local and top quality golf club. Very modern and superbly equipped bedroom.
