Hotel Rosatsch

We had a very enjoyable stay. We had a large room with balcony, bathroom, separate WC and generous cupboard space. Everything one could want was available for breakfast. I particularly appreciated all the fresh fruit. The 4-course dinner was excellent commencing with a buffet of various salads, terrines, cold meats. The second course was soup or fruit juice. There were three choices of main course: one meat, one fish: one vegetarian. The alternative to the sweet course was a fantastic cheese board. Our package was particularly good value as included lift passes and public transport within the Engadine. We also appreciated the friendly and helpful staff.

Two of us stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite in their "Residence" wing. Had requested separate beddings, and a 1.50m long sofa had been made up as one of the "beds". Not suitable for an adult. However, this was promptly rectified even though it was late in the evening when we arrived. The room was very quiet, as we had requested. It was also clean and spacious. All rooms in the hotel are non-smoking. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. We had a few special requests concerning our half-board and departure arrangements and they did our very best to satisfy them. The same can be said for the restaurant staff. We found the quality of the breads, the breakfast selection and the evening set menus excellent. I had chosen this hotel as it was the only one I could find with a reasonable cancellation policy (2 days before arrival instead of 2-3 weeks which are customary for most hoteliers in Pontresina at this time of the year). My basic complaint is that the hotel looks completely tatty and worn out. The manager confirmed that they are going through a large-scale refurbishment. Step by step, beginning with the common areas such as the spa and pool, which all guests can use... other parts of the hotel such as the the rooms themselves, the corridors or the lifts seem to be further down the list...The lift was very small and waiting times long: you are statistically very likely to stop on a few floors before you reach destination. Altogether, despite the good service and nice food, in my view not good value for money compared to the other 4* hotels I normally use in Pontresina.

Hotel staff were nice. Convenient location. Cookies and hot tea in the lobby is a great touch. BUT…I suspect we were in a room that needs to be refurbished (Room 420). There were stains on the wall above the bed that made it look like some sort of assassination had occurred there, followed by some serious bleaching. (See picture) The bed was quite uncomfortable, very hard and lumpy the way mattresses get at the end of their lifespan. Room looked like it was decorated in the 80s. The bathroom had a tub and a separate shower stall, which would have been great if the shower stall had been large enough to allow for washing without constantly bumping your arms against the walls. Overall survivable, but I wouldn’t recommend.

We stayed 2 nights in this very nice and centrally located hotel in charming Pontresina. The hotel is priceworthy in comparison with other hotels nearby. It has a beautiful big Spa, which is complimentary; big pool, three different saunas, relax room and possibility to have massage treatments. This is excellent to use on a day with bad weather, or in the evening. The hotel also has a big but cosy bar, with plenty of fine drinks + a bar menu. The staff is friendly & helpful and breakfast very good in a very nice restaurant (there are two restaurants in the hotel). The interior of the hotel has high class. We stayed in room nr 403 which has a nice view, a very comfortable bed and top noch bed linen. The room was small with a tiny bathroom - but equipped with a free rucksack/backpack to borrow, as well as walking sticks. No mini bar or aircon. The big Plus in the Pontresina/Sankt Moritz area is that if you stay 2 nights or more, you get a free pass for all the ski lifts and local buses. We would definately choose to stay in this hotel again, if we come back to the area. Thank you!

We use this hotel for a cuple of times for our skiing holidays. The location is excellent for cross country skiing. For alpine skiing there is a small shuttle bas running straight ahead of the hotel to the bski lift.

We had an excellent stay here starting with complimentary shuttle service from St. Moritz train station (you need to call or email to schedule it), to the heated indoor pool, and great breakfast buffet spread (ask for Lina’s section for dining, she was very attentive and made our meal time special!). Also, Claudia in front desk was very friendly and helpful with making recommendations and also just overall offering great service. We will be back!
