The room we had on the second floor was cool on arrival and it stayed cool during our stay. The receptionist did say if we had told them earlier they could have sourced a heater for us. Which might have been ok, but as we wouldn't have left it on during the day, we would have still had the same problem and it wouldn't have heated the bathroom, as our towels never got fully dry. The corridor was also cool, unlike the ground floor and reception which was lovely and warm. The room was clean, but very dull, which is a common complaint with hotels. As there were two of us, only one bath and hand towel was in the room. The receptionist did get us another set. The car park needs to have the disable bays repainted as they are very faint and near impossible to see in the dark. It wasn't helped that the disable bay area was covered in mud, not what you want getting out of the car and having to navigate the mud. Breakfast at the Ashbridge was ok, but it can get busy as the cereals, bread and toasters are in the same area, so if people are queuing for toast, then you cannot get to the cereals easily. Christmas morning breakfast for the hotel guest was available, but only until 9am, due to getting ready to serve dinner. Staff were lovely and cannot comment on the cooked breakfast as we stuck with the continental. This hotel is fine if you just want a room and the staff friendly and helpful. The reason for three stars was the cool room and muddy, unpainted disable car park area.
