We arrived very late so check in was our room keys left on the reception.. we were greeted by a very friendly and kind English man & ginger cat.. We stayed for 4 nights. Over the coming days we got talking with the manager & other staff members who were all very friendly. The manager in some reviews is put down as” rude” however we didn’t find this the case. Don’t expect too much from the hotel, you get what you Pay for. The ginger kitten is super friendly & a little bit of a menace.. loves interaction from humans. Transfers to the hotel from the airport are quite expensive - do some research and pre book or find a local taxi service. We used nisso’s taxis whilst staying in the area & we found them very good value. Polis itself is small but has some lovely places to eat one being saddles bar. Look into getting the buses to explore a bit further out - the prices are very very good value!

I've just come back from a holiday in Cyprus. I stayed at the Marion Hotel, Polis. The hotel was very good, with friendly staff and quite good facilities. My room was comfortable with a sea view. The pool area was well cared for. The hotel's gardens are truly very beautiful. The Marion is quite good for visiting the town, there are attractions like the museum and the church quite close. There is also an excellent barber-shop at the top of the road. The Marion Hotel is a 10-15 minute walk away from Polis 'old town' with bars and restaurants. There's a brilliant coffee bar called 'Coffee Island' about five minutes away from the Marion, opposite direction to the 'old town'. There are several handy supermarkets nearby the Marion Hotel. Also a 10-15 minute walk away is the excellent 'Herb Garden' restaurant, where I ate one of the best 3-course meals I've ever eaten, next to the museum it has it's own 'walk-around' herb garden with myriads of beautiful scents and smells - they very much add to the ambience of the beautiful restaurant. There is another very good restaurant about a mile away called the Myrafiori Restaurant, where they do very good pork souvlaki. Both restaurants have vegetarian food on their menus. Altogether a great holiday, and I believe there are plans to upgrade the hotel, which will probably make it 3/4 star.

Ignore bad reviews, they are unfair!!! We stayed at The Marion Hotel fr one month fm 7/7/24 and our stay was more than expected. The hotel was comfortable, with wonderful gardens and an amazing seaview. The Mgr Michael is passionate about the family business and does hs best to accommodate everyone. The breakfasts served with a smile by Panikos, are g8t and enough to set you up fr the day... The location has a g8t bus service and is perfect fr getting around Cyprus. We would recommend the hotel to all experienced travellers who appreciate a chilled out, "home away from home" accomodation. We Thank You all for one our best Mediterranean holiday to date:)))

Absolutely .**** hole rooms got cleaned once in a week cockroachs in rooms and really moody manager even the cockroachs were more friendly the rooms are like walking back to 70s if you do decide to brave it here leave the breakfast alone otherwise you will sick of cheese and sliced processed meat bad coffee

The Marion is a friendly family owned hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and clean. You will pay extra for air con and breakfast but overall it is still fantastic value for money. It was great to be able to cool down in the pool every day.

Please don’t listen to bad reviews, we still went after reading them and so glad we did and we had an amazing time. We’re looking at going back next year, as for Michael being rude I cannot believe that. He’s the most genuine helpful person we have met on holiday. He bent over backwards to help with anything we needed. As for lights out yes the bar closes early but plenty of other bars locally. The area is close to a lot of lovely little restaurants and bars and a short walk to the beach, and bus service is good if you want to go further out. As Michael says it’s a family run hotel, they do need to sleep at some point. There their for breakfast, lunch, dinner and pool bar as well as reception 24 hours. So all you cranky guests who are probably trying to blame someone because you don’t know how to entertain yourselves please do not blame the hard working staff 😡

What a great surprise…… Retro sophistication! Rooms are bright, big, high ceilings & CLEAN. would have been a plush executive hotel once looking at the quality of wood & seating. We were very pleased with our stay after worrying about other reviews. Breakfast was delicious, staff so friendly, everyone cared if we were ok. Pool area was great, plenty of room between me & other guests. Garden was beautiful. Short walk to central Polis 5minutes from an amazing cake shop & the eloquent ‘Herb Garden restaurant’ I would definitely return - thank you

We visited the hotel two weeks before our stay, the reception person, was totally confused about our booking. Two single rooms and two double rooms, in total 6 adults. It took over half an hour to get it sorted. On arrival, we arrived with a group of other friends who had also booked on line. To say he was rude, I know it all would be an understatement. Ours was two singles and two families?? ( after we have previously been there to sort it. Told other friends of our they had not booked, even though they had confirmation on their phones, it was faulty towers, with a Cypriot Manwell. Eventually most got rooms, !! Advicado bathroom suit from 1970, no shampoo or shower stuff, had to hold the mixer Tao shower head up to use the shower. Towels were multi colour and different sizes and had had seen better days. The sheets were clean, but stained and covered with an 1970’s eiderdown. The decor is old and dated 1970’s) At 21:30, the place was virtually in darkness, no bar, no food, not even a coffee available. Breakfast is to be avoided, even the coffee was disgusting. I am really sorry to say this but, has to be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I have traveled the world.
