Whalers Cove in Poipu

I just returned from two heavenly weeks at Whaler's Cove in Poipu. This was an ocean front condo with fabulous views. The grounds were impeccable and included a beautiful pool and spa with a cave shower. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. A new employee, Ivan, helped me with my luggage and groceries. Alex helped me with the cable in the unit. The manager accommodated me with a key drop for a late departure.I enjoyed walking to the Kukuiula Village Shopping Center for Lappert's coffee and later in the afternoon for Lappert's ice cream. The shopping center has an eclectic collection of shops and boutiques and a large Longs Drug store. It also has a fine collection of casual and upscale restaurants, all within walking distance. I enjoyed the craft show at the Beach House Restaurant, and of course the "not too well known" Babies beach. The location is wonderful and I look forward to returning to Whalers Cove next spring. Truly a five star resort!

A week in Whalers Cove tops a month at many other vacation locations! From checkin to checkout the staff was friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable about the property and the community. Alexsis and Aileen (reception desk) were our go-to persons for all our needs on site and info about the island. Marianne (manager) was on top of all the activities and interests of the guests staying on site. At sunset the south lawn was a gathering place for folks to watch the sun go down and share conversations about their experiences. It was a great opportunity to meet and share stories with fellow travelers. On 2 evenings we got the bonus of whales breaching off shore while the sun set. A daily walk to the end of the parking lot saw turtles in the adjacent inlet. Suite 210 is ground level with a lanai that has a view of the hot tub, pool, and ocean beyond. Actually the view through the sliding doors was just as magnificent without stepping outside. So every meal on site came with a view whether we ate at the table inside or on the lanai outside. This suite has apparently recently had upgrades such as the living areas (large screen tvs in the living room and both bedrooms) came with cable and internet service, the kitchen ( new cabinetry and the cabinets were loaded with dishes, appliances, pots, pans, etc to make meals in-house and save on restaurant excursions), and the bathrooms. The suite walls have interesting photos by the owner as well as artwork by local artists to give a tropical vibe to the unit. You will have a true tropical experience in Whalers Cove!

We had a wonderful stay in this perfectly situation condo. The condo has everything you need and is spacious and comfortable. The owners are delightful and responsive people. The Whaler’s Cove staff was fabulous. Hope to return next year!

If you want a quiet, relaxing vacation in a place where you feel like you've escaped from the world entirely and are on your own little island while still being 5 min from every service you can imagine, this is the place. I can't tell you how relaxing it is to sit on the lanai or by the pool and watch time go by. The best. The staff are fantastic and Marianne went out of the way for us. The whole team is awesome! My recommendation is to stop by the local market, load up on food and hit the Thai Food Truck next door. You will love it. I was in room 233. The best!

This was our fourth time staying at Whalers Cove. We stayed in Condo 134 for the second time which is very comfortable and excellent views of the ocean. Whalers Cove is quiet and peaceful which we were seeking. In addition, Marianne and the entire staff treated us with the Aloha spirit that is so prominent in Hawaii. If we decide to return to Kauai, Whalers Cove will be our first lodging choice!

Whalers Cove Oceanfront Resort, unit 210, is top notch! We could not have asked for more…ocean views right from our living room, the sound of crashing waves to lull you to sleep each night, steps away from the heated pool and hot tub overlooking the Pacific and a beautiful, grassy lawn overlooking the ocean just perfect for whale, sea turtle and dolphin watching. Unit 210 is spacious with an open kitchen, dining and living room. Large bathrooms with walk in showers and double sinks, a huge walk in closet and nice kitchen with full size appliances. The unit was well appointed with a relaxed island feel. It is very comfortable and stocked with any amenity you may need. We especially enjoyed the framed prints of photos taken by the owner of beautiful spots all around Hawaii (and the binoculars)! The General Manager, Marianne Martin, was exceptional from the time we booked until after our departure, as was the rest of the staff. Everyone we encountered at the resort were warm and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. Marianne’s communication and recommendations for local attractions were spot on and certainly added to our trip. We booked a boat tour based on her recommendation and had a blast. We were amazed at the ocean wildlife we saw…Manta Rays, Humpback Whales breaching, Monk Seals, Spinner and Bottle Nose Dolphins…all set to the breathtaking beauty of the Na’Pali Coast. The resort had complementary snorkel gear, Boogie Boards and an endless supply of beach towels. There is also a small “channel” just beside the resort where sea turtles would come to rest for the night and you could spot colorful fish. If you love animals and wildlife watching, Whalers Cove is just right for you.
