Interesting place. I wouldn’t use the word ”luxury” to be honest. A strong feeling of the 90’s. Despite high season it felt like we were almost alone in this enormous resort. Not that we like crowded places but being almost alone in both the resort and the beach club for three days it almost felt spooky 🙈 Two pool bars of which one just felt abandoned.. But nice rooms, ok food, great staff. So, the place have potential but I wouldn’t call it ”luxury”. They could for example shape up the Kids area in the little house that now was just empty. Put some tables, chairs, papers, pens, crayons, hobby/handicraft stuff for the kids to get some break from pool/sun. But, I repeat - all staff was GREAT. ABOUT THE AREA - NOT THIS SPECIFIC HOTEL Another thing to be aware of in Playa Coronado is that it’s like a Gated Community with only private beach clubs. No public area like ”ocean walk” with shops and restaurants, no cosy ”town/village center or street” like we are used to from European beach destinations. For us that was the most negative thing with Playa Coronado, we don’t like to be ”stuck” in a resort. For me, it’s strange with a beach destination that doesn’t have a bunch of public restaurants by the beach with ocean view 🤷🏼♀️
