Verina Terra

Excellent stay at this well designed beachside boutique hotel. The gardens are beautiful, the rooms (guest houses) generous and the staff lovely and accommodating. This was the first stop on our island hopping trip through the Cyclades and it was the perfect entry. The beach across the street was a little much for me (not very comfortable), but the water is amazing and the pool is so nice it’s hard to leave. There are swimming areas all around the island so not to worry!! It’s good to get out and explore. Be sure to reserve a car in advance. The hotel serves a nice breakfast and has a delicious lunch and snack menu. My one regret is that they don’t serve dinner. Again, it’s good to get out and explore and there are good options right across the street. Dinner is late in Sifnos and reservations are hard to come by in the high season (August), so ask the hotel for suggestions and book well in advance. Truly a great place experience.

I recently stayed at Verina Terra in Sifnos and had a good holiday overall, though it didn’t quite live up to the luxurious reputation it advertises. The setting is beautiful, with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. However, there were a few issues that affected our stay. The water in the shower was mostly cold, which was a bit inconvenient. Now at our next hotel, it’s such a delight to always have warm water! Additionally, I had a couple of T-shirts shrink during washing. Despite these issues, we still had an enjoyable time. The location is great, and the ambiance is charming. It’s worth considering for a pleasant getaway, but just keep in mind it might not be as luxe as it appears. I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars.

We enjoyed our stay as a family - it’s a very pleasant and unpretentious small hotel with nice decor and a location that worked very well for us. The rooms are pleasant (could perhaps do with a refresh and the bathrooms / showers are so so), service was very friendly and the location just across the road from the platys gialos beach strip was super convenient to potter out for lunch or a morning / evening swim and made our stay very low effort and relaxing. We then had a car to explore all the great things Sifnos has to offer when we wanted to. Together with the super friendly (unpretentious) service and relaxed vibe it worked well for us. Breakfast was also very nice with yoghurt, eggs, cereals, pancakes, fruit and plenty of coffee. Pool area only just about big enough and shortage of shaded areas when busy. But never felt too bad. Double rooms feel quite pricey. Personally would love it if it were a bit closer to Astra but it’s pitched as a different proposition. Would definitely go back as overall we had a great stay and with children the location works well.

My wife and I have just completed a wonderful 10 day visit to Sifnos where we stayed at the absolutely fantastic Verina Terrace, Platys Gialos. The hotel was recommended to us by our terrific travel agent - Visions Holidays Group - as they knew that my wife and I wanted to stay at a high class boutique hotel within easy walking distance of tavernas / restaurants and close to a beach. They couldn’t have recommended anywhere better for our requirements. The hotel has less than 15 rooms / suites all of which are well equipped with the buildings only having a maximum 10 steps to reach the 1st floor rooms. The hotel has a great pool and offers shaded sun beds and day beds. Towels are provided by the pool which is cleaned daily. Breakfasts are outstanding and served on the terrace by the pool. The menu choices are extensive and all breakfast dishes made to order. The excellent beach is situated within 50 metres from the hotel. All tavernas / restaurants are within an easy 10 minute walk. The Verina Terra staff are all extremely friendly and consistently deliver a very high standard of service. Particular mention must go to: Katerina, Anna-Marie, Vangelis, Iena, Atif and Savannas. My wife and I have been regular visitors to Greece for 40 years. The Platys Gialos resort with its excellent sandy beach, very clear water and around 12 tavernas / restaurants, together with the wonderful Verina Terra hotel are now our ‘Number 1’. We would strongly recommend all lovers of Greece to consider Sifnos, Platys Gialos and Verina Terra for their next vacation,

We were 2 nights here and 4 nights at the other Verina! we're glad we did both as it was nice to have a base in 2 parts of Sifnos. This is such a lovely bay plus it has fab restaurants. The hotel room was spacious and beautifully done and nice terrace with sunbeds. Pool area and where you eat breakfast very nice. It was quiet being out of school holidays as not that many sunbeds by the pool but it was no problem, suspect many people go to the beach too. Service was great all round. No complaints!

Firstly the staff were fantastic! But, the room really spoiled our stay. We could hear every noise from the room above. The couple above us were blissfully unaware that every time they dragged a chair, walked, snored or used the loo, etc we knew all about it. They woke us up each time they went to the toilet! not only from the plumbing sounds (use your imagination). They woke us each morning around 06:30 to experience their ablutions. I am sure our stay would have been much better had we had an upstairs room. The plumbing is part of the problem, but solid flooring with (presumably) no acoustic membrane and an internal joining staircase (locked both ends) acted like an echo chamber. These issues should not happen in a boutique hotel in this price range.
