Hoteles en Platanias con Spa

Where to start? We booked for 7 nights late season for a peaceful getaway for two exhausted parents of teenagers.The holiday choice did not disappoint as everything was top notch although weather was touch and go but it was expected as out of season so not as problem in our lives. The hotel is a bit out of Chania but 3 buses an hour was adequate for when we visited, Chania is well worth a visit as it’s a beautiful place and somewhat reminiscent of Venice when your at the port side. The room was to die for! Great bed and lovely sea view as well.The rooms were impeccably clean and the ladies who clean them thoroughly deserve a tip for the hard work and care they give in their role.Breakfast was lovely and very satisfactory and everything was seasoned to perfection.Lunch was always great from the pizza to the beef wraps all to die for but….the tasty prize goes to the not so humble apple pie well this was truly out of this world! Big congrats to the chef.Dinner was buffet unless you booked a La carte which we did once and it was lovely but most evenings we were very happy just to have a small plate of dips, salads & bread and then on to George’s bar for a couple before bed.George is an absolute star! If you get the chance ask him to make you a “Zion” cocktail it’s lush! Now on to the staff who all deserve a massive congratulations for being so lovely and really making our holiday 🥰I’m really bad for names but the lady who looked after us at breakfast was so lovely and friendly she always had a massive smile for us snd and a cheery “kalimera” every morning. We hired a car with another couple and we went to the botanical gardens snd also the gorge as the views are spectacular! All in all I would highly recommend the Asterion. The pool wax also fine as we swam a few times as did others x the sea was lovely snd warm but be careful as the current is very strong and you can quickly lose control. What a fantastic week we had here. The kids and us loved it. After reading reviews here on the run up to going we became nervous about what to expect and I have no idea what any of the bad reviews are talking about. The staff are all lovely and were very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was polite and happy. Especially Eva on the bar. By far one of the nicest people I have met. The water slides were great and kept both kids 5 and 13 entertained all day. We only saw them when they were hungry or needed Suncream topping up. There were plenty of sun beds through out the day never had trouble getting enough even in the sun which was great. The main pool and kids pool by the bar and restaurant has lots of space and bed. At the water park there is a smaller pool and a toddler splash park as well as the slides with plenty of beds. We went all inclusive and everything was included, water park, towels, sunbeds, snacks, unlimited ice cream much to the kids delight and all drinks including cocktails. Never waited long for a drink especially if you wanted beer as it’s on tap you help yourself too. Food was great with fab selection that would vary slightly each day although the kids lived off pizza and chips the whole week. Rooms were fab, great size. Two sofa beds one with a trundle in living room along with wardrobe, table and chairs and kitchenette with everything you would need including waters in the fridge on arrival. Bathroom off the living room and great size bedroom, very comfy beds and en-suite. Balcony was a nice size and over looked the adults only pool which was a good size and again always had plenty of beds. The hotel is right on the ***** but very quiet at night and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Fantastic stay and would definitely come again and recommend.

We never usually like to book big hotels when visiting Greece as we usually spend very little time in them. This one caught my eye and I’m glad it did. Communication from the UK to Minoa before we left was exceptional. We were greeted warmly and shown to our room. A lovely bottle of red wine was given to us as a gift which was a nice touch. The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel grounds were beautiful. The pools were great. Always sun loungers available which is a big plus. We are at the pool bar and the Italian restaurant which are both top quality at good prices. They did fitness classes in the pool three times out of the 7 we were there. They also had a lovely Jazz band on one evening which sipping cocktails at the piano bar. We never got time to use the gym or the spa sadly but we had a sneak peak and it looked great. The beach bar was a lovely touch and the sunset from there was so special. One last thing… we had a leaving gift of tea bags and olives in a lovely Minoa gift bag. Thank you all for such a special break.
