Caravel Suites - Adults Only

The most amazing holiday. The staff were all incredible and hard working, they couldn’t do enough for you. Even in 38 degree weather they were extremely hard working, so thank you all so much. Our room was room 623, it was an inland view room and it was brilliant. The balcony was huge, the room was always lovely and clean. The beds are huge and very comfortable. The aircon was amazing especially coming in after such hot days. The only thing slightly annoying was in the shower there would be a sudden burst of boiling water which would occur sporadically while showering but we put this down to the plumbing and showering at busier times? Having read a few questionable reviews before arriving in Zante we were concerned we were going to have a repeat of our holiday last year to Crete. We had previously stayed last year in a ‘5*’ hotel in Crete which was fairly poor, hotel lovely but drinks and food just terrible and room was questionable. I can honestly say this year we were blown away and everything beat our expectations. I can’t believe there is any bad reviews for this hotel. Special mention to Ervin, Asimina & the man who works at the pool bar / entertainment sea front on the later shifts (we didn’t catch his name, we also hope we’ve spelt the other two names correctly) they were all stand outs for us. Super friendly, hard working and always had a smile on their face while doing so. Matt the TUI rep on site in the hotel was a great help, really friendly and helpful guy. The 3 entertainment girls were brilliant, always enthusiastic and bubbly, they really made you feel welcomed. Beds are easy to get, the better ones were being reserved early but you could always find a bed no matter what time and you were always in the sun so this didn’t matter to us. The cocktails were amazing! All real alcohol and juice, no pre mixed drinks or cheap alcohol. Food was great, plenty of variety (coming from someone who is fussy) Night time entertainment was brilliant. Something different most nights, from an Elton John tribute act, to Greek dancers and a live singer. The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to stay in the hotel your whole trip or if you want to venture out. There’s lots to do near by, cars to rent, boat trips to go on and supermarkets to go to. One downside to the hotel is there are no wrist bands for guests which you see at other hotels (everyone is all inclusive so I understand why this is the case.) With this we were certain we had seen some people staying in the hotel bringing in their friends to the hotel every day, drinking for free round the pool and taking up some of the best beds who were actually staying else where and hadn’t paid to be there at all. After drinking by the pool all day we would then see them leave back to their own hotels for lunch/dinner times to return for drinks later on. This was really annoying to see as someone who’s paid full price to be there, it seemed unfair on the hotel and the actual

Honest review of our stay at TUI Blue Caravel When all flights got delayed last year we got out up in this lovely hotel for the night. We loved it that much that we thought we would try it for our holiday this year. We arrived on Friday and were instantly greeted by the hotel staff. We were asked if we would like lunch before check in, and the food was just as good as we remembered it. There is a wide selection and definitely something for everyone. We were greeted with welcome drinks and a member of staff helped us with our bags to our rooms. We stayed in 817 which I believe is the newer block, and it had a swim up pool (we upgraded late with TUI, I recommend doing this as it only cost us an extra £60 in the end instead of hundreds as they had some spare rooms close to departure date). Yes the rooms could do with a bit of tlc but are you actually spending that much time in your bathroom etc to nit pick every single thing? The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Beds were comfy with plenty of room for hanging clothes. We also had the lounge bar attached to our block so it was perfect for grabbing evening drinks if you didn't fancy the entertainment. The cleaners deserve a huge shout out, they were cleaning rooms daily and always to a great standard. The vibe was relaxing, and as it was end of season there wasn't much going on, but we still found it great. The pool is cold but once you brave it a couple of times you get used to it. We were blessed with thunderstorms the first few days, but the staff were fantastic and kept the drinks flowing! The drinks were great and I highly recommend doing a cocktail class, it was so much fun! Angelo and Maia deserve a shout out as they really do try and make all visitors feel welcome. The staff really do put their all into their jobs and without them the hotel wouldn't be as good as it is. There was table service in the evening and sun bed service in the day. Highly recommend the snack bar and the restaurant visit, lovely food and was really relaxing. The breakfast was always great and I highly recommend the hash browns and asking for a iced caramel latte! They were amazing. They also have an omelette station which they cook to order, which was an added bonus. The spa needs a bit of an upgrade as the indoor pool was FREEZING and the steam room and sauna had a mind of it's own if it was gonna work or not, but we only used it once and it didn't affect our stay in the slightest as it was just an added extra. All in all I think you get what you pay for here, especially when it's close to the end of the season. It's been a lovely relaxing holiday and the hotel and experience itself has been great. We would return in the future but maybe a few weeks earlier for a bit of a better atmosphere. If you are expecting a proper 5 star.. just remember you are in Greece and pipe down Yamas!

What a fantastic place to visit! My only minor criticism was that the rooms were looking a bit tired and some of the beach towels had seem better days. They were however spotlessly clean and we weren’t in our rooms long enough for it to detract from an amazing holiday. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming and a few names definitely stood out for me. Saul was the entertainment manager and his team Wilma, Miya and Filipa were there from early morning to late at night taking care of some fantastic activities. I loved the Bocha and Kubb games and had so much fun making new friends. The aqua fit sessions were also brilliant fun and helped make be feel a little less guilty about eating so much. Food was delicious, from the buffet to the fine dining. Anna was a big presence and worked tirelessly to ensure things were just perfect in the cullinariam and snack bar. The buffet breakfast, lunch a dinner was varied and delicious. The omelette man was kept busy every morning serving freshly prepared omelettes to order. The waiting staff were all equally great, they were happy and attentive and very polite. The bar staff were on it, especially “darling”and the girls serving round the main pool (sorry didn’t get your names) ensuring you were never thirsty. Finally a mention for Daniel for the best massage I have ever had. The photos are a good guide on how beautiful the setting and the food is.

We had the most amazing honeymoon at the Caravel! Staff were waiting to greet us as soon as we arrived - we were offered a welcome drink while we checked in and our bags were taken to our room. We stayed in a sea view room with a jaccuzi and it was amazing. The room was lovely and the view from our balcony was stunning. There was a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us and the room also had a mini fridge filled with soft drinks and water that was refilled during our stay. The whole hotel felt relaxing and peaceful, yet had plenty of activities to keep you busy if you wanted. We joined in with darts which was good fun, and we also enjoyed the pool party and beach party. Our favourite activity was the cocktail class, would definitely recommend booking this! The activity hosts were all friendly and enthusiastic. The evening entertainment was also good - we enjoyed the live music and 'The Night' was fantastic. The pool area was lovely. The infinity pool was cool enough to be refreshing but still warm enough that you could spend a while relaxing there. Some people did seem to get up very early and reserve beds but hotel staff were quite good at enforcing their policy of not reserving beds before 9am and removing towels that had been unattended for over an hour. We never struggled to get a bed in a nice area. The food and drinks at the hotel were amazing, a real highlight for us. The cocktails were fantastic and it was a nice touch having drinks service, especially around the pool. It was slightly slower service during the day (but the bar was close so it wasn't a problem) but on an evening the staff were so attentive and made sure everyone was served as quickly as they could. I was slightly nervous about food before our stay as we had read some reviews that mentioned it being repetetive/not much choice, but we found that this couldn't have been further from the truth. We enjoyed the different themed nights and found that food was different every day. There was an incredible amount of choice for evening meals and breakfast, it was almost overwhelming trying to decide what to have! I'm quite a fussy eater but really enjoyed every meal and found that there was plenty of choice for me. We didn't visit the main restaurant for lunch as we decided to go to the snack bar instead. The food here was fantastic, plenty of choice and all freshly cooked. The best meal was definitely at the Culinarium. It was a beautiful restaurant looking over the sea, and the food was fantastic, both in presentation and taste. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would love to return in the future. The hotel is simply amazing and the staff work incredibly hard to look after their guests. We would highly recommend the Caravel to anyone!

We have just arrived home after a fantastic 11 nights at the caravel. We requested a room but didn’t get the one we chose, however we did get an excellent sea view room , Room 910. Everything about it was perfect. The food at the hotel is tasty and the night at the cullanarium was a lovely touch with beautiful dishes to choose from. We stayed at the smaller pool most days, Aqua Aerobics each day at this pool was great fun. Bar staff very cheery and chatty even when it was so hot. Drinks are lovely and refreshing , only negative were the soft drinks were flat and very sweet. We opted for the fresh lemon juice and smoothies, much nicer option. The entertainment team worked their socks off and always with a smile. They are a great asset to this hotel. I visited the spa for a facial and a massage. Would highly recommend. Will definitely return in the future

The best hotel I have been to ever! Amazing service from the lovely workers, they are so sweet and work fast to cater all your needs, always ask if you need anything. The view is great with the infinity pool and private beach, free sunbeds for the hotel guests. The food is all inclusive and has amazing quality. They have everything you want. The rooms with swim up pools are beautiful They also have entertainment every day

We upgraded, when booking, to a Sea view room with a large balcony. Having already explained that we had walking difficulties. When we arrived at the hotel, we found that the lift did not go all of the way up to our room level, which meant we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs, which were not fitted with a handrail, to get to our room 653. We put in a request to move rooms but we were only offered a room near the main hotel entrance, which was on the main road where there were 3 late night music/ sports bars. We turned this room down due to the noise. Some people that we spoke to said "that they had to move from a room near to the main hotel entrance, due to the late night music noise. When I spoke to the reception staff about the possibility of a room change, they weren't really interested. They all had the same response "The hotel is full". In the end I sent an Email to the Hotel Manager, explaining our situation concerning the stairs and our walking difficulties. I did not get any reply , so I sent Email a 2nd and 3rd time, but he was too ignorant to reply. Then on our 2nd to last day of our stay, as we were leaving reception, the manager stopped us and wanted to discuss the Emails in front of everybody. This is not a 5* hotel, more like 3* Our room 653 needed a total refurbishment. When the shower was used it flooded the floor by the hand basins and into the toilet, so a bundle of towels had to be put the shower entrance. The towel rail by the basins was hanging off at one end. Even in the toilet there wasn't any tiles on the floor and around the door frame there wasn't any trim, just filler between the wooden frame and the wall. The plug in one of the hand basins did work. Outside on the balcony there wasn't a continuous dividing wall between the rooms, so you could easily walk from 1 balcony to another. There were flower beds full of dead plants/weeds. The patio table and chairs were in a terrible state, hadn't been treated in years. The large sunbed was a "health hazard" due to the dirtiness of it. The sunbeds on the lawn areas were a "joke", they were rickety wooden things that nearly fell apart when moved or sat on. Again they had not been treated in years. When you were on the sunbeds you were plagued by cats, on the scrounge for food, mad e worse by the stupid people who bought food from the restaurant and fed them. Evan the staff in the eating areas did not "shoo" them away. There is even a "cathouse" in the grounds which encourages them. W even see 1 cat "spray" all over somebodies bag which was under his sunbed. Drinks from the bars were very weak/ watered down. Restaurant food was very repetitive, we starting eating out after 4 days. The best part about the hotel was its staff, not including the reception staff and the hotel manager, who worked very hard and were always polite. Just returned from the Caravel where we spent 10 days for our honeymoon, and all I can say is my Husband and I were blown away. It was the first proper adults only hotel we’ve stayed at and as it was our honeymoon we paid to stay in a swim up double room with a sea view, and we were not disappointed when we opened up our curtains to see that view for the first time the room we had was simple but modern, spacious and everything you need for a room to get ready in and sleep in. The bed was was super comfortable, the mini bar was restocked daily with water and soft drinks and the maids work incredibly hard keeping the rooms clean throughout the day, and we tipped them for that at the end of our holiday. When we arrived they had given us an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne and a cake which I thought was such a lovely thought. The hotel itself is spectacular, it’s a lot bigger than we imagined but from our room you could walk down the corridor and straight down onto the beach. It’s kept clean and up to scratch by the incredible staff who you notice are up early watering the lawn, cleaning the pools etc. The wifi was okay, it did disconnect frequently but I think this was because we were in the farthest block and didn’t bother us too much as we had signal on our phones and it always worked in spots of the room and when moving around the hotel. For foodies, the buffet has a wide range of choice. My husband and I are not really one for all inclusive buffets but I will say this is probably the best we’ve eaten at. We ate our lunches majority of time in the snack bar. It has such a wide range of choices on the menu, such as club sandwiches, salads, toasties, burgers, pastas, wraps, pizzas, gyros… the list goes on! But it was 10/10 service there always and the food always tasted good and was fresh. The drinks selection was exceptional, and the cocktails are the best I’ve tasted at an all inclusive. The staff must do so many steps walking around the hotel taking, collecting and delivering orders - the most hard working and lovely staff we had the pleasure of being around and chatting with. You get 1 free sitting at the Culinarium which is their 4 course ‘al a carte’ restaurant that you can book through the TUI Blue app for the evenings. If you’re into al a carte, you’ll love this restaurant. It’s very posh and they serve you with starter/dessert wines, breads whilst you wait etc, and even though the portions look small, it was super filling, well cooked and well presented. The pools were cold but exactly what you need in Greek heat ☀️ plenty of sun loungers around and always spare even if you wake up later, and I loved the sofa beds that they have around too which were comfy and complimented the view even more. The seating was plentiful and comfy. The beach was an amazing touch to this hotel, slightly rocky walking in but nothing too crazy. We didn’t sit directly on the beach and there are signs that say the seats are for Caravel use only, but lots

This hotel really needs a refurbishment and its simply not 5 star. Our room was very tired, the bathroom was tiny and the decor and fittings look to be 20 years old. The shower head was hanging off the wall when we arrived. The shower area flooded into the bathroom every day, drains stank and the shower temperature scalded us every day as it ran cold to red hot. I borrowed bleach from the cleaners trolley several times to put down the drains. The toilet seat and cover was old and stained, the toilet brush disgusting. We were offered another room - but it was even worse - we could smell the drains before we went into the room. The Tui rep said the shower and room issues were unacceptable - but nothing was done about this after being offered the even worse room. Towels are hard, thread bare and off white. Pillows hard, mattress stained. Balcony tiles loose, room decor damaged and needing maintenance. Air con unit old not always working. Wifi really patchy. The drinks were always flat - Tui said this was an ongoing problem - ( its been online as an issue for months - it needs sorted.) The food was very repetitive and often not very hot and not well replenished. We gave up on day 4 and ate out. The entertainment was not great. The best thing about the hotel is its sea front location and its staff who were lovely and worked very hard - but sadly this does not come near to make up for everything else. Such a shame.
