Turtle Inn by Francis Ford Coppola

From the moment we arrived to the time we left Turtle Inn was a fabulous experience. Their incredibly friendly and personable staff went above and beyond in everything they did and were very helpful. Our Seafront Cottage was comfortable, spacious and exquisitely decorated. The food and drink choices were wonderful with a nice variety and there were multiple excursions to choose from. Not to be missed is the half-day snorkeling to Laughing Bird Caye with fellow travelers and Javier and the Sunset Cruise in the Dolce Vita. We loved everything about this charming, idyllic resort and will surely be back!

Our family of two parents and two teens loved our time at turtle Inn. We loved relaxing by the beach and the pool and the villa was amazing with space for both kids and parents and some spaces to relax and play games. We loved the restaurants! The kids favorite was the Woodfire pizza oven and the parents favorite was the fresh fish at the main restaurant. We loved the happy hour by the beach/pool and it was the most relaxed we’ve been in years. We loved the adventures where we went repelling down waterfalls, zip lining, and snorkeling in the coral reef. We also spent three nights at the sister resort in Blancaneaux in the mountains, which was highly recommended.

I just returned from Turtle Inn - this is a hidden gem! I am a 50 yr old solo female traveler. I prefer adult only resorts, quiet, off the beaten path locations and authentic, upscale resorts. I am always researching vacations and looking for boutique properties that cater to those looking for a more refined experience – can’t believe I had not found this property before. Here are my Pros and the few minor Cons regarding this lovely resort: Location - First time in Belize, easy hop from BZE to Placencia, the resort picked me up, 5 minute drive to property. The town of Placencia is fairly remote. It was a little grungier than I expected since Turtle Inn caters to a more upscale crowd. It was a short 10-minute bike ride (bikes provided free) from the hotel. A couple of shops and restaurants. I didn’t find it appealing personally and decided to stay on property for the remainder of my stay. I bought one cute bag to contribute to the economy. The Chill Out coffee shop serves hand-dipped ice cream and is very close to the hotel. There was a cute bakery that had sandwiches and pastries for sale that looked good. Property – So lovely, grounds immaculate, lots of paths for meandering, wonderful organic garden and a new coffee/tea cottage is about to open – so cute. Loved the adult-only pool on the day when some kids were at the main pool. It didn't look like there would be enough loungers and I was afraid people would start staking their claims but somehow they never ran out. I had a lounger put down by the beach one day. They have the BEST floating pool lounge cushions. Thrilled that there was only some soft music in the beach bar that you can barely hear at the pool and that the bar shuts down when dinner starts. Property was whisper-quiet by 9pm. I spent several hours sitting on a bench swing watching the stars after dinner and enjoying the breeze and the sound of the ocean. While the property is situated east-facing on the water, it isn’t what most people think of as beachfront. A seawall was constructed to prevent erosion and though there are access points to the water, it was a little murky and not many people were in the water. That said, there is some packed sand and since you have the pool (which was the most lovely cool temperature), it was good enough for me. Accommodations – Outstanding in every way, so much bigger and better than expected based on website photos. So many thoughtful bespoke details from the provided beach bag to the foot wash out front to the candles and fragrant incense in the evenings. Two sanitized yoga mats were provided so I did beach yoga every morning. Mosquito netting was an option which I chose to take advantage of (because even 1 mosquito at night is too many). For me, the mattress was a bit too firm but that’s being very picky. The seaside and ocean front rooms do not have A/C yet (coming soon) so if you need to be cold to sleep, get a garden room with A/C. The ceiling fan and breezes in my seaside pool cottage w

The Turtle Inn is a perfect place to go to enjoy beautiful nature, great options for adventure activities and the most perfect setting for relaxation. Our family just returned from a one week stay and had an absolutely amazing time. The resort is the epitome of quiet luxury, with the perfect blend of high end amenities and natural beauty. There are several different options for accommodations, so you will have no trouble finding the right fit for your group or family. The property is well maintained and just the right size to be easily manageable. Our kids got to know the layout quickly and were able to wander around on their own, with no issues. There are 4 options for dining at the Turtle Inn and each one is great. Each option offers a different cuisine, but the quality at each is extremely high and the food is very fresh. The staff at Turtle Inn is the best of the best. Our butler, who took care of us from the start of the stay to the finish, was a gem. Silvano anticipated everything we could need or want and even suggested some great things for us to do that we had not considered. He was smart, kind, and a complete professional. We felt completely at ease knowing that everything was well in hand with Silvano! If you are looking for a trip that is unique, beautiful and memorable, I cannot recommend this resort enough.

My wife and I just returned from Placencia, and the experience was great. From the time we landed until we left 8 days later the staff from Alex to Susan to both Javiers to Jose to Jimmy at the bar, the entire staff was exceptional. Martin the GM made us feel at home and I must mention Cindy and June in the Spa provided great experience as well. We are already discussing returning to the Turtle Inn. The food, drinks, environment, and overall atmosphere. And let's forget the 4-legged friends wondering the property who were friendly to every guest who walked in the door. The village is 1.1 miles away and a good walk; so much so, we walked down there daily for shopping and to try the restaurant experience off property at the recommendation of the staff. Again, top notch.

By far, the most well-appointed tropical vacation I have ever been on. The seafront villa was steps away from the water. The sound of the ocean crashing against the rock wall was soothing. The attention to detail began as soon as the sun rose when fresh coffee silently appeared. The never-ending cookies and before-bed snacks started and ended each day on a sweet note. There was no need to leave the resort. Full-service food and beverages were available as needed. The menu is diverse and creative. As a vegetarian, I was not left behind. The ingredients were fresh, innovative, and delicious. The property has much to offer, from the beach to pools, walks, gardens, wildlife, and even some farm animals! We learned the names of the resort dogs, the gardeners, the bartender, and the chicken caregiver. The most important person, and someone we now consider our friend, was our butler Oscar. He knew what we needed before we knew what we needed. This fantastic human tended to all our needs, wishes, concerns, and recommendations. Oscar even taught a traditional card game and a few pickleball challenges. Oscar added a level of care and trust that will be cherished for a long time. We will return!
