I had a reservation for September 3rd to the 4th; I selected the "pay at property" option and had free cancelation until August 31st. I found a different hotel and canceled this reservation on August 6th. Had not been charged at this point, and received the cancelation email from *******. The night of September 3rd, at 11 o'clock at night, a hotel employee calls me asking about my reservation. I told him, several times, that I had canceled it weeks ago. He did not seem to be understanding that if ******* didn't notify him or if he missed it, that was not my fault. A couple days later, I saw a charge for $85 on my credit card. I attempted to call them and received no answer. So I contacted *******. I believe ******* contacted them 3 or 4 times. I was finally notified that I'm getting my money refunded, but apparently the hotel employee tried to tell ******* that I had a non-refundable reservation. That's just a lie.
