High Street Living Motel

Close to Ferries and in main street but no view Good parking and a coin operated laundry ( if required coins available to purchase at Reception) The unit was clean and the shower excellent in a good sized bathroom; unfortunately no ice in fridge

Stayed at here for two nights as we were taking the ferry across to Wellington. The motel is positioned in the middle of the main street so it is walking distance to cafes, restaurant, supermarket (next door) and the ferrys. The motel is dated and the rooms on the small side. We had a two bedroom one but if you had four people staying it would have been so cramped. We had no hanging space at all in the main bedroom so had to use the second bedroom to unpack our cases and hang clothes. Also no air conditioning only pedestal fans which are not great to use in an already small bedroom. The kitchenette seemed to have all the basic requirements. The bathroom was interesting with a light positioned straight over the shower – not sure how that was allowed! Also had some very odd positioning of power points. There is parking onsite but it is very tight and can be noisy when people are either coming in late or leaving early.

Excellent little motel in Main Street walking distance to supermarket cafes restaurants and pubs. Ver pleasant, cheerful and helpful lady at reception. Rooms very clean, smallish but modern. Has xtra things like touch lights by bedside ( very handy in middle of night) Hangers in the bathroom to put your clothes on while showering. Electric blankets for cold winter night. Have booked this motel for our next trip.

The motel is in an exceptional location and the hosts are very helpful and welcoming. While the rooms are small, the facilities are spotless and very functional. I wish we could have stayed longer. When we had a lost item that needed returning after we left, they were amazingly diligent in helping us get it back. Thank you

Not impressed with these guys customer service. Our ferry was cancelled, like so many others, and this motel refused to give us any money back, even though we cancelled the booking. They are blaming ***********, but *********** have actually requested them to give us a refund which they have ignored. Even a partial refund would’ve been nice, but they are just profiteering out of other peoples misfortune.

Spotlessly clean, good value. Comfortable, warm and cosy. Friendly, accommodating hosts. Felt safe staying here as women. Tastefully decorated. Well stocked toiletries. Centrally located, good for walking around town.
