First time I've been,recommended by friends, excellent food great rooms made to feel very welcome, becky front of house is amazing very polite, excellent personality she made my weekend, I will definitely be going again and taking other friends, the atmosphere was great 🙂

We were very welcome from staff as soon as we walked into reception. Rooms were very clean, food, evening meal reasonably priced, and the breakfast were excellent. The surroundings are all you'd expect from north Yorkshire. All in all, brilliant visit, so relaxing.

One night with breakfast solo. Fantastic location for views, peace and tranquility. The family who run the hotel & restaurant are warm, welcoming and friendly. I only booked one night as a stop over but if you like walks on your door step and spend time exploring Pickering, which is lovely, take your gear and stay for two nights!

My wife and I had Christmas dinner at this fabulous hotel. The food was all home cooked and was absolutely delicious. Becky, our host, gave us a really warm welcome and also offered us a glass of fizz or simply the best mulled wine I have ever tasted. The whole experience was relaxed, and as it was our first time ever going out for dinner on Christmas day, it was the best place to go. Thank you all for making our Christmas. Have a happy new year x

We have just spent a lovely weekend here. It was during one of the worst storms for years, so didn't have the weekend we had planned as the weather was too bad...but that didn't ruin our break due to the hospitality of the staff here. It is a really friendly family run business who made our stay perfect. The meals are amazing in the restaurant and the breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a hotel restaurant. Thank you to you all for looking after us si well....you absolutely made our weekend.

This family owned rustic Country hotel is about two miles from the centre of Pickering up a mile long farm track. It is very quiet. We stayed in a small cosy room with a comfortable bed and a shower ensuite. For breakfast there was a good choice of cereals, Yoghurt, Grapefruit segments and Toast to help yourself too. There was also a good choice of hot Breakfasts available. Becky was very friendly and helpful and always there to make sure guests were happy.

Family run hotel with a warm welcome as soon as you enter. Everyone was so friendly. Our room was comfortable and a good selection of drinks at the bar despite being a small hotel. The food was exceptional, all home made with a good selection at reasonable prices. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

absolutely amazing place and the owners we so lovely. spent 3 nights while visiting family in the local area. Very clean, rooms were lovey not massive but still plenty of space and good sized bathroom. but the best part was the evening meal OMG it was so good. I travel a lot for work so eat out regularly but this was by far the best lamb shank i have ever eaten. I can not wait to return next year

We only stayed the one night as we were going to the Forest Live event a few miles away. The hotel is a couple of miles out of Pickering down a single track lane. The outdoor space is lovely and there is a bar so you can sit out. The room was ok, clean, as was the bathroom (but the shower was a bit erratic- hot- cold-too hot). There’s also a restaurant and the staff did ask if we would be joining them for dinner when we booked in; however it did not open until 6pm so we declined. I think the hotel missed an opportunity to serve most of the guests if they had opened earlier as the majority of guests were attending the concert and were away before 6. That said we did have the breakfast in the morning and that was great. You do need a car or be an avid walker if you stay here but I would stay again and recommend to others too.
