Well, where do I start? Sarah and Chris are a lovely couple, and nothing is too much trouble. My only real problem is I need plain oat milk for my tea - which was provided without question. The Gable Room, which we always book (and have already booked for 2025) is lovely. It's at the front and with a busy main road (the A170) you might think eek! - not the right choice - but the walls are what, up to 4 feet thick, and the double glazing closes the sound out very efficiently. A lovely double bed, a sofa, a dressing table and a roomy cupboard for your bags leads on to a separate bathroom with a large-ish shower cubicle in a nicely decorated room with all the usual facilities. The normal accoutrements are provided for making your tea (inc. fruit teas), coffee or hot chocolate, with plenty of those little milk things (and a little jug for my oat milk fresh each day). Plug in points to re-charge your phone(s) and (should it be hot) an electric fan can be found in the cupboard to blast yourself with - and yes, we have had to use it one year. All told - heaven. Breakfast? Anything from an extensive menu of breakfast goods - hot food all freshly cooked for you. I finished the week on a small bowl of fruit compote (although it wasn't really that small!), and scrambled eggs on toast with salmon. Sam (my other half) had bacon rashers, mushrooms and fried eggs every day - in addition to cereal, 2 slices of toast (freshly sliced butter provided to put between two triangles to warm them up a bit), together with a range of small pots of Tiptree jams and marmalade - although I had cereal, toast and marmite on toast (with butter, of course!) most days - together with a small fry-up - I couldn't face a full one - I'd burst at the seams. I rate this place very, very highly - we've stayed at a large range of B&B's and, together with one in Devon, we've found our perfect B&B's. Thank you guys - it's very, very much appreictaed - and we hope Herbie continues to improve.
