We booked a 5 night stay in a deluxe double room at the 3-star Clear House resort for a bargain price 850 baht per night, making the booking a couple of months before our arrival on 10th December. On arrival we were told that our reservation had been cancelled! For the next two hours we were back and forth on the phone to Agoda who assured us our booking was fully paid for and still active. The woman working the reception was the most infuriating and frustrating front desk worker we have ever encountered. She made no endeavour whatsoever to assist us, refusing to phone Agoda and continually smirking and laughing as though she was taking some joy from our dilemma! After back and forth to Agoda for two hours she then informed us the hotel was full and did not have a room available for us anyway, unbelievable! She then offered us a room at their 2-star sister hotel with the same name closer to the beach for 1200 baht a night. We argued that we had booked this hotel, a 3-star at 850 a night and now you want us to move to a 2-star at 1200 a night! We managed to negotiate a price of 1000 baht a night but were not happy. We believe that the hotel is operating some sort of scam where they deliberately over book and then cancel the bookings for those that had booked at a lower price, only accommodating those that had paid the premium price. We will never ever stay here again and on our return to our home country will be reporting their actions to Agoda. Those contemplating booking here be warned.
