We went to Pedra Bonita Kastel with a big group (around 20 people over 10 rooms). The hotel was understaffed and there was not much service, they have a mini fridge with 2 cans of beer, 2 cans of coke and 2 bottles of water and some crackers. The restaurant doesn’t serve on the rooms neither on the pool. The cleaning staff was very good and kept the room clean but you need to ask for it in the reception and leave your key (and they gave is only 1 key per room). Definitely not a luxury hotel, but charging luxury prices(I paid R$2000 for 3 nights, by the way they charged different prices for the same room which is not nice because one of my friends paid half the price I paid). Many of us took around 1 hour to check-in because there was only 1 staff member at night. The scenario is beautiful with lots of nature and a wonderful view of the “pedra bonita” (“beautiful stone”). The breakfast was very good and I have nothing to complain about it. They have a nice playground for small kids with rubber floor and toys, my son loved it. There was several problems among the group: broken bed, water dripping inside the cabines, hot water not working, on one night we went out and left the rooms open but the hotel staff locked the rooms with the keys inside. I have not tried the food in their restaurant because my friends advised they were waiting one hour and a half for the meal and one of my friends received his meal with a piece of glass in his risotto. Overall the experience was good but not as expected for what was advertised. For Brazilian standards I would call it a “pousada” (Inn), not a hotel.
