During my stay, I encountered several issues that significantly impacted my comfort and overall experience. The room was excessively hot and humid, making it extremely difficult to sleep. I went to the reception to request a room change, but I was informed by the staff member that no alternative rooms were available. She also mentioned that the air conditioning was not operational, stating it was due to the time of year (April), and that no manager was available to speak with me.
The heat and humidity in the room made it nearly unbearable to breathe, and I had a restless night. Additionally, there was a mosquito in the room, despite the fact that I had not opened any windows or doors. The room was not soundproof, and I could clearly hear loud noises from the room above until around 11 PM.
Furthermore, the Wi-Fi did not function properly, continuously displaying a “no connection” message. The toilet seat was unstable and shifted when used, and the shower handle would not stay in place, requiring me to hold it throughout my shower.
The following day, I raised these concerns with the manager. However, her response was disappointing. While she did apologize, she also remarked, “What do you want me to do? There is nothing we can do.” She claimed that the heating and cooling systems in the area are controlled by the local police, and therefore, the air conditioning could not be turned on.
I initially requested a refund, which was denied. I had to escalate the issue through trip.com, speaking with their staff multiple times. Eventually, the hotel offered a 10% refund, which was minimal considering the circumstances. While I do appreciate the partial compensation, I was particularly dissatisfied with the manager’s attitude and lack of genuine concern or accountability.
There were simply too many issues with the hotel, and I hope that steps are taken to improve both the facilities and the standard of customer service.
