Hotel der Wiesenhof

This hotel shows the true meaning of hospitality. The facilities are wonderful, most especially the swimming pool. A massage is also a must. My room was comfortable and spotless. The food is delicious, with great choice at breakfast and dinner. You can also choose to have a lighter portion of the main course at dinner, a lovely detail. All the staff are so friendly, helpful and make you feel like one of the family. Plus, the hotel is situated in such a beautiful place. I hope I’ll get to make a return visit one day.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel der Wiesenhof. The staff was marvelous, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and had a good sense of humor. All spoke English fluently. Our junior suite was spacious with comfortable beds. The hotel is located near several hiking trails, and others can easily be reached with the excellent public bus system, which is free for hotel customers. There is a huge (25 meter) heated indoor pool as well as a fitness center to enjoy after a busy day of hiking. The evening meals consistently had four choices for mains--a fish, a vegetarian, and usually two meat options. There was always fresh salads, breads, and cheeses. Most mains were well prepared and had a beautiful presentation, although a few were just okay in terms of taste. Breakfasts included choices of eggs, omelets, or waffles with various toppings, as well as fresh fruit, breads, cold cuts, cheeses, and fresh vegetables. We have stayed in three hotels recently in upper Austria. All "king" size beds are actually two twins put together, with two separate twin sized comforters. We would love to stay there again should we return to the Tyrol.

This was our sixth visit and the hotel is as perfect as ever. The staff as really friendly and helpful without being obsequious. The food has always been good but on this visit it was the best we have ever had, particularly the meat dishes - great cookery, flavours and textures. The rooms are clean with very comfortable beds and everything you need for storing walking kit. There are so many walks to do from the hotel, that over ten days we never did the same walk twice and we could vary what we did with the weather and our mood. The swimming pool is excellent - one of those rare hotel pools where you can really swim lengths of more than two strokes. This is perfection.

We ended our stay in this hotel about two weeks ago and are already planning when we can return. The hotel is family owned and run and all the staff we met were capable confident and friendly, seeming to genuinely care that guests should be content and feel welcome. The rooms are classic alpine with lovely quality wooden furniture and are kept beautifully clean. If you book on the hotels own website as we did you can choose the size and style of room. We opted for a larger room and had a very comfortable seating area plus a large balcony. The hotel is well situated just back from the lake in its own meadows with views of the lake to the front and the mountains to the back. The food is exceptional. I have had half board many times but never at this level. It was like eating in a high quality restaurant every night. There is a reasonably equipped gym and lots of other facilities. The high point for me was the unbelievable swimming pool in a glorious pavilion building. 25 m long, well heated, doors all round open to the garden in fine weather. Perfect for both serious swimmers and those just wanting to relax. A truly great hotel at a reasonable cost with many guests obviously returning frequently.

My wife and I have spent many happy holidays in Austria and have always been very pleased with the quality of our hotels. However, the Wiesenhof Hotel (Pertisau) is in a league of its own! From the moment you arrive you are greeted with warmth and friendliness. The staff are just wonderful. Nothing is too much bother for them. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean and have balconies with terrific views. The Wellness Centre and gym cater for your every need, and are a welcome change after walking in the mountains. The Austrian cuisine in the well-appointed restaurant is absolutely perfect. We will certainly be returning!

This is a wonderful hotel with a warm and friendly vibe. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. The facilities are excellent, rooms are beautifully appointed and the location and views are breathtaking. Pertisau is a great village with a lovely atmosphere, cycling around lake Achensee is recommended and the many mountain paths are great in both summer for walking or cycling and winter for skiing.

The staff of the Wiesenhof are wonderful. So friendly, welcoming, and keen to ensure guests have a wonderful stay. The food is of a high quality, with plenty of options to suit wide tastes. The spa, gym and leisure facilities provide ample opportunities for action and relaxation. We generally had the spa to ourselves, or shared it with only a handful of others. All in all, a beautiful base in the mountains, and with the bonus of wonderful Achensee.

Super hotel. I would highly recommend. Excellent location. Great scenery. The hotel has all the amenities you need for a lakeside walking hotel. Swimming pool. It is a family own hotel. The staff were very friendly and very accomodating. The food selection was impressive and the quality very high.

This is a first-rate hotel with comfortable rooms, great facilities and excellent food. Situated in the charming village of Pertisau, surrounded by meadows but with views of Lake Achensee, the Wiesenhof has friendly and attentive staff and, unlike some of the other larger hotels in Pertisau, has managed to house its modern offering in an attractive traditional building. The swimming pool is superbly located in a beautiful conservatory-style building and is kept at just the right temperature. The breakfasts offer all the usual Austrian options but freshly cooked omelettes were a particular speciality and were delicious. Dinner was invariably an event with a good choice of main courses and the puddings were exquisite. Highly recommended.
