Very disappointing............If you want a good carvery don't eat here! Tough beef, undercooked vegetables and yorkshire puddings well past their best! Terrible! Will not be eating here again and definitely wouldn't recommend it!!!

100% for staff, rooms, food. Best sleep I've had for weeks. Even though I was by the road, double glazing stops the noise from traffic. Would recommend it to anyone. Nothing is too much for them. Definitely will return again, again and again. THANK YOU.XX

I ordered the beer battered haddock and it tasted amazing! The batter particularly was just the right amount of crispy with a great flavour. The thing that really made the difference though was the addition of the pickled shallots - a real game changer!! The service was attentive and friendly

I notice that any poor reviews here relate to the food, not our experience, but this is also the place for reviewing it as a ‘hotel’, restaurant is a different entry. A quintessential English pub that looks as if it dates back centuries with its low beams in the. A lovely bar/restaurant. Our room was a good size, immaculately clean with clean bedclothes and towels. Equipped with TV, a/c, WiFi, tea and coffee facilities, bathroom toiletries etc. A very comfortable night. Breakfast was a good selection cooked to choice, full English, scrambled eggs with salmon on toast, eggs benedict etc. Cerals, juice, tea or coffee completed a great start to the day.

Been here many times in the past so thought we would try for breakfast. Although the place was empty the service was so slow. Eventually a member of staff took our order then about 10 minutes later she came and told us there was no salmon or pancakes. That meant most of the menu was missing. When the food arrived it was okay but nothing to shout about like it used to be.

I came here with my 6 bridesmaids, the night before my wedding at a farm down the road, and we absolutely loved the place! We arrived unexpectedly late and the staff were really nice about it; we had the whole floor of rooms to ourselves. The staff were so accommodating at every stage, including allowing late check-out so I could arrive at my ceremony on-time. In the morning, we couldn't get a taxi due to another big event taking place nearby and were panicking a bit, so one of the staff offered to give us a lift to the ceremony in the pub car, even though it took her two trips!! The rooms are much bigger than they look in the pictures; there was plenty of space for us all to get ready in the same room. The beds are massive and super comfy. And breakfast was absolutely delicious, again with super friendly staff, who even helped me to print a bunch of wedding programmes which I'd forgotten to print the day before. All my bridesmaids couldn't stop commenting about how much they loved the place. Highly recommended to stay here, and a massive thank you to all the staff for making my wedding morning so fantastic!
