Arrived late Friday afternoon, no car parking spaces available, receptionist said it was a case of first come first served, not very helpful guiding me to where I could now park. I had a single room which would better described as a box room . The single bed was squashed against a wall, and very little floor space once I opened folding suitcase holder. In the morning I opened my curtains to a fire escape and a brick wall. I went for a long walk do my room could be serviced . I came back early afternoon and the room had no clean towels , in fact nothing done, I found a maid along the corridor and was told, there is a notice in the room explaining you have to book this with reception the night before , if I had noticed the notice I would not have walked back down 35 steps to book this after I was settled in my room, ( no phones in rooms) The lounge/reception was beautiful dressed for Christmas. Breakfast 2nd morning ordered tea and coffee was brought, the table next to me also were brought the wrong order. Breakfast was good, and highly recommend the Eggs Royale. Checking out on third morning was not straightforward, had to go and search for receptionist to settle my extras, a waitress attempted to check me out , ( as the only person we could find) but she was unable to use the computer , she went off to find the receptionist, who then could not accept Cash as “the Man” had not brought the cash box, delaying me leaving , so very mixed experience
