Center Parcs Erperheide

This was our Second stay at Erperheide but this time we stayed in a VIP cottage. Last time we stayed we visited in May in glorious sunshine so it was nice to see the site in the Autumn. I do love the way Centre parks changes with the seasons. We paid around £740 for our stay from Friday to Monday at the end of October half-term - Half of what the UK Centre Parcs costs for the same amount of time. The Cottage we stayed in was Clean and Modern and came with a Sauna and Bubble bath (which my son loved). The cottage came with two good size bedrooms - the only issue i could foresee for a family with 2 kids would be the second bedroom beds can’t be separated like they can in other cottage's we’ve stayed in. No problem for us though as our son got a massive bed all to himself :D The cottage was quiet and private. It’s just the sounds of nature and the occasional Chicken wandering around !! You get Wristbands that act as your door key , swimming pass and locker key plus use it to book all your activities. We love this system and find it works really well. During our stay we used the Aqua Mundo everyday !! We really love the way centre parcs operate their pools. The facilities are so clean and well managed !! You can swim from 10am - 9pm. If you wanted to you could swim all day or multiple times a day. The pools do get busy but you can find quieter times throughout the day. We didn’t do many activities this time around but did book bowling and table tennis. The screens to book are dotted around the site and really easy to use. If you do struggle with modern tech you can also go the reception and their more than happy to help. We ate in the Grand Cafe a few times during our stay. It is one of our favourite things about Centre Parcs EU. The Staff are super friendly and Helpful. The ones we encountered could slip quite easily between multiple languages which is super impressive and helped us a-lot when ordering. Really quick service too - didn’t take long to get drinks and food even at their busier times. The food is on the more expensive side but it’s all really tasty and of high quality. You can 100% do this holiday cheaply if you buy your shopping before you go or from one of the surrounding supermarkets. We’ve done this multiple times and it does keep the cost down so you can spend on the activities. Overall we had an amazing Holiday - which was no surprise because we always do at CentreParcs !!

We've been to a few CPs in Europe over the years, and this one was ok, but not the best. Positives: *Aqua Mundo is clean and good fun. This is a small one compared to others though, with only a couple of slides, a Crazy River and some smaller pools. *Good range of activities around the site - the animal area was lovely (but give 'treasure river' a miss, it's about 5 seconds of fun for €5). *Soft play is actually really good - different zones and lots of space, so although it was busy, it didn't feel overcrowded. *Due to its small size, it's an easy CP to get around on foot. *Staff were friendly and helpful. Negatives: *The accommodation is pretty dirty, considering how much it cost. Although most surfaces were clean, the floor was filthy, and there was no mop provided to clean it with. There was lots of dirt and dust under chairs, radiators and beds etc, and it could really have done with a deep clean. *Limited provisions - in this case, no bedding or towels (apparently, it's common in some European CPs to have to bring your own bedding or rent it which is fine if you know this - but it's €75 for the week if you dont). There's also no bath mat, which is such a petty but annoying point. Also, when you rent the bedding and towels you forgot to bring, it's all wrapped in individual plastic bags, so not very environmentally friendly! *Showers are slow to drain and blooming lethal - bring an anti slip mat if you have kids. *Food onsite is poor quality and very overpriced. *Shop is similarly overpriced (and overpriced compared to other European CPs we've visited) - €8 for a bottle of conditioner!

I will start with the positive: very nice indoor playground, nice swimming poll, and also outdoor a lot of playgrounds and the farm was great.. but: -in the swimming pool was cold if u were out of the water u had to dry immediately nit ideal for young children -our room was dirty. The ground was dirty and the toilets -one of the bedrooms was smelling like mold -the sauna room had also a bad small! It was a pity because we had good experience in other center parcs

Fantastic stay with the kids. Great services and friendly personal. The home was very well equipped and the activities are so abundant that one week isn't enough to do everything.

Unfortunately, they did not agree to cancel the reservation or even change the dates, even though the reason was so justified, war and no flights, I will never book through them. See, you have been warned. I hope that they will help me but they destroy my vacation .

This is our second visit to Erperheide and we love the facilities (especially Baluba) but this time the stay has been massively let down by the drastic drop in pool temperatures. Last time the pools were so lovely and warm i remember the outdoor pool was steaming- this time the temperature is just marginally above what you’d expect in an adult (Olympic) swimming pool which really isn’t great with young children. Sadly unless the temperatures are changed back to the warmer ones, we will not be visiting again. I also feel that a warning should be added at booking about the pool temperature change as we would have chosen a different Centerparcs location, had we known. Also premium cottages don’t include towels (€50 extra for a family of 5) and not even a bath mat, so the floor is dangerously slippery after showers. No mop in the cottages to clean it up either.
