The Lodge at Primland, Auberge Collection

Simply put, this hotel charges Swiss luxury hotel prices and delivers Holiday Inn service. Their front desk just does not know how to give good customer service. They are absolutely clueless. We had problems with the room so that we had 4 maintenance workers in the bathroom for 3 hours. When I asked the front desk how could I shower before dinner they tried to tell me to go to the golf locker room across the parking lot. Someone else finally cleared it for me to use the spa facilities. And despite significantly increasing their rates during Fall season, they still tack on resort fees and parking. They also revised our bill to add more charges a few days later which we got reversed. It just felt like they were out to charge you for every little thing possible. We wrote a detailed review to the hotel afterwards and heard nothing back. Yes, they did give us a small credit on our room but it did not make up for the issue. The hotel is just not worth what they charge based upon the room and the service.

A very remote but beautiful hotel. Great for a getaway weekend. Golf course was amazing and restaurants were very good. Not many dining options but just enough for a couples weekend away. Lots of activities to participate in and solid service. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable.

Primland was an amazing property with excellent service. Food was excellent, however, just keep in mind that this property is remote so other than the 3 onsite restaurants and room service, there's not a lot of other options for food if you are staying for more than 3 days.

From the breathtaking mountain views to the peaceful atmosphere, everything about this place feels magical and serene. Our suite was stunning — beautifully designed, cozy, and romantic. The service was exceptional across the board; every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and attentive. A special shoutout to Blaze, our shuttle driver, and Nicole, our massage therapist. While everyone at Primland was wonderful, these two truly stood out for their kindness and professionalism. It’s rare to remember names after a trip, but they left such a lasting impression that we’ll never forget them. Our romantic fireside dinner at Leather Flower was beyond anything we imagined. We decided to share several dishes to experience as much of the menu as possible, and every bite was extraordinary. From presentation to flavor, each course was crafted with care and creativity — it was an experience to savor, not just a meal. Breakfast overlooking the mountains, a rejuvenating spa visit, and peaceful stargazing all added to the dreamlike magic of our stay. If you’re looking for the ultimate romantic escape or a peaceful mountain retreat, Primland is simply unmatched. We can’t wait to return for our anniversary!

Beautiful property with many amenities. Stayed in Fairway cottage, gorgeous views from our patio. Only issue, you are a bit isolated at resort and takes about 20 mins to exit property.

It's worth the drive to travel to Primland and enjoy the best of what the Blue Ridge Mountains offer, particularly in the fall season. We staying in one of the suites overlooking the peaks and valleys of the mountains and never tired of the view from our rooms. The service was very good and the rooms were cozy. We enjoyed and recommend the star gazing experience in the observatory, wine tasting in the wine cellar, horseback riding, the RTV tour, the clay shooting course, and also the services in the spa. We were never bored, we learned a lot, and we had a wonderful time. We are already planning our next stay.
