Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort

We were attending a wedding next door at Tigh Na Mara and decided to stay here instead! We had a nice, clean room with ample toiletries (soap,conditioner etc). There was a well stocked small kitchenette with a coffee maker, kettle microwave and fridge. We opted for the breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. A beautifully put together tray was delivered on time and with fresh fruit and juice.Ample parking during the day but at night a full lot. Definitely would book here again and would recommend it to anyone!

The service and attention to detail at the Sunrise Ridge Resort is exceptional. We go there every summer for last sixteen years with our family…….,now the grands bring friends who have grown to love the resort! We love the Waterfront villas!

I booked a Junior Suite for 3 nights and wasn't thrilled with much of anything. I went to book directly online and after 3 attempts gave up. The next day I called and sorted things out and booked the room. Check in was easy, they do offer an advanced check in online, but after the online booking issue, I decided the best course of action was to check in at the front desk. The staff throughout the stay were friendly and knowledgeable. The room was a ground floor room in one of 2 buildings close to the main lobby building. The entrance to the room was under the stairs to the rooms above. This whole set-up was cavernous. I felt like a troll going into his cave. The room itself was equally cave-like. The Junior Suite is a 1 bedroom with a small living room and kitchenette. The decor was dated. Everything functioned well, the couch was lumpy and uncomfortable. There was some wear and tear on the couch, the chairs were dinged and also uncomfortable. The bathroom was equally dated. The shower had great water presser, but the grout between the shower tiles was black and gross. They placed the air conditioner unit in the bedroom. It was a stand alone unit and the stuck the hose out the bedroom window. It was a very loud unit and I had to shut it off at night which was annoying. I'd wake up from being too hot and have to turn it back in on to cool things off. That happened a couple of times a night. The little patio off the living room was closed off and dark. The patio was located under the stairwells for the upper units and had a row of bushes in front. Sure it provides shade and privacy, but with how enclosed it all was, just wasn't enjoyable. There were 2 metal patio chairs and a table, but the chairs were uncomfortable and could sway backwards, which was not appreciated. The least expensive price for the room included a "s'mores" package which included no name brand marshmallows, 4 packed of hot chocolate &4 disposable cups, and these cheap Leclerc Celebration brand butter cookies with milk chocolate on top. That too was a disappointment. I expected graham crackers and chocolate bars or pieces. Overall, while the staff was great and the room was clean I probably won't return. Oh, the in room coffee and tea provided were excellent. I guess my expectations were set too high.

Our group of nine, four adults and five teenagers spent seven days at this resort. We had two separate units and we had the units with three bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is actually its own studio suite which was kind of nice because it does have its own fridge and a little AC unit and it’s own separate bathroom so it was really, great actually We were in the 200 building facing the pool. If you’re not a lover of family resorts or kids this may not be the place for you or at least don’t face the pool lol. There are a number of different types of accommodations here and there are also some townhouses which I think are two bedroom suites which looked very nice. There’s also some villas, but they book up a year in advance And they overlook the ocean which is beautiful. We were on the third floor of the 200 building and we could see a little bit of the ocean from our balcony. The nice thing about our room was that it did face the pool, but it was really quite private because there was trees in front and when you’re sitting on the patio , you had a lot of privacy. The balcony had an overhang as well, which was nice. There’s also a gas barbeque on the balcony which we used a few times The AC units are the ones that vent outside and they’re decent enough. (Not central air like the townhomes had). The pool is open until 11 o’clock every night. The teenagers had complaints about the hot tub that it wasn’t hot enough, but overall the pool was fine. My couple complaints are just observations about the places that you may not want to have somebody above you if you’re in the Buildings where the condo/Apartment style units are. As I said we were on the third floor and this building is four floors and you could hear a lot of the people above you stomping around. Not a dealbreaker I mean we were fine with it, but they had little kids and they were ripping around quite a bit so it was kind of annoying when they would start at 6 AM. anyway it wasn’t that bad Just an observation. The property, at least in the apartment style condo units don’t get cleaned for the time that you’re here so you have to constantly ask for things when you run out such as toilet paper, sugar, those kinds of things. Parking could be a struggle from time to time because the place fills up a lot every night, especially on the weekends, but it was never a huge deal for our group. Overall experience here though was very good and we would return.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! The view from the front units is nothing short of breathtaking, with stunning water views that you can enjoy all day long. The beach is just a stone’s throw away, making it super convenient and accessible, which was perfect for our family. One of the highlights was definitely the deck with the BBQ overlooking the bay. We had some memorable evenings grilling up dinner while soaking in the beautiful scenery – it really added something special to our family get-together. Another great perk was the location. We loved being able to walk to the nearby bars and restaurants. It was so nice to leave the car behind and enjoy the local nightlife and dining options without any hassle. All in all, this place exceeded our expectations. It’s a wonderful spot for families or anyone looking to relax by the water and enjoy the local amenities. We can’t wait to come back and make more memories here.

Another return visit to Sunrise Ridge and another super stay. Always great customer service and special thanks to Mark for his wonderful fire starting that made our evenings special. We stayed in unit 421 A which was super comfy, clean and well stocked with everything for an extended stay. Love Parksville...so many things to do for a great vacation...or in our case...workcation!

Good room. Could have used a second sitting chair. All amenities were first class. Off season so there was limited staff but that had no bearing on our stay. Very friendly staff that we did meet. Construction on property but we didn't hear it.

Forgot to mention in my last review, kudos to the maintenance technician James, helped us out several times in the last few days. We really appreciate it. Also l big thanks to Katie at the front desk. Who directed us in many ways to make our stay great.
