The hotel offers quality services, the beach is beautiful, and at the beach bar, you can enjoy the most delicious coffee with chocolate. The restaurant's chefs prepares extraordinary and diverse dishes for all tastes. The room is very clean, with daily housekeeping if needed. There is high-quality entertainment every evening, including for children. All services are impeccable, and the hotel staff is at the guests' disposal. We spent four holidays at this resort and will certainly come back in the future.

Disappointing Stay – Definitely Not 5-Star Standard We arrived late in the evening and were initially impressed by the warm welcome at reception, which made us feel hopeful about our stay. However, the issues began as soon as we got to our room. We had paid around £4,500 for a one-week stay and were told this was a 5-star hotel, so naturally, we expected high standards. Unfortunately, the first room we were given was right next to a bird’s nest, and from 4am onwards the noise from the birds was absolutely unbearable – like being in an aviary. To make matters worse, the corridors leading to our room were filthy, with bird droppings on the walls and floors. I’m currently unwell and really needed this trip to be restful, but two nights of disturbed sleep made me feel worse. We reported it to reception and were told it would be sorted, but nothing changed. On the second day, we showed staff videos and were eventually moved to a different room – but this meant more packing, unpacking, and physical effort in the heat (around 30°C), with steep steps all over the complex. As an animal lover, I can be understanding, but not when the noise and mess seriously affect the quality of your holiday – especially for the price paid. The pool areas were another letdown. The water wasn’t clear even first thing in the morning, and green algae could be seen around the main pool and especially in the aqua park pool – the one with the bridge. The water there had visible thick green sludge which made it look poorly maintained and unclean. While the front desk staff were pleasant, most of the other staff around the hotel seemed disinterested and even rude at times. It felt like they didn’t want to be there. During our stay, the hotel was mainly filled with French and German guests, with very few English visitors. The entertainment seemed geared solely toward those groups. For a family hotel advertising itself as 5-star, the entertainment was incredibly poor. One small Greek dancing performance was all we saw – and it was very repetitive. I’ve honestly had better in a 3-star hotel. The food was also disappointing – extremely repetitive with very little variety. Everything seemed to be pork-based, and I had to search for chicken, which really should be a basic offering. The flavours weren’t great either, and overall, the dining experience didn’t reflect the hotel’s 5-star label. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It felt like a lot of effort and very little reward for the money we spent. Serious improvements are needed in cleanliness, food, entertainment, and customer service.

An absolutely stunning location albeit there’s nothing else around it. A hire car or the bus is the way to get out and about. It’s perfect for family’s with children up to 14 years of age. The food is fantastic from the main restaurants, the pool bar food by the slides is very basic but will keep you sustained until the evening, or there is the train to take you back down to the main restaurants if needed. The main building and the rooms directly over looking the coast are all certainly five star, but it must be said that the family rooms built into the hillside, although very quaint and spaced out are not 5 star. I’d give them a 4 and that’s being generous as they are clean, tidy with fresh water left outside every day, but they need upgrading/renovating to match the rest to be an honest all around five star resort. It does leave a slightly bad taste in the mouth as this resort is priced 5 star but not all of the aspects of it are. The location/views, the slides and water park are fantastic, there is a shop onsite that sells snacks, drinks, trinkets etc. this shop arranged car hire and sells a range of swimming attire and equipment, goggles etc. it’s true that the evening meal peak times are pretty chaotic but it must be said that although the staff look stressed they work very hard trying to clean up and prepare tables for the next guests. Go after 19:30 is my advice. You must have the mojitos from the main bar, they are superb. All the cocktails are very good to be honest. The local beer and wine is not too bad as any all inclusive, a slight negative was that the bar stops serving all inclusive drinks at 11 but stays open until 1am but the drinks are then chargeable. The toilets in the main building are immaculate and the whole complex as a whole is exceptionally clean and there are always staff cleaning all hours. There’s a very good variety of evening entertainment, the spa was average this time but in 2023 was much better. We took the day trip to Spinalonga, an absolutely fantastic trip but be advised you leave at 6am and dont get back until 9pm! Worth it though for sure. We also went to Knossos palace and Heraklion which we would highly recommend. Something worth mentioning is that we came here also in 2023 and the life guards were ever so diligent and friendly but in 2024 they all looked new and there was a big burly man in particular who was being rude and man handling the other women working there which we felt at a family resort was unacceptable, the rest of the life guards were generally on the ball. We highly recommend all of the a la carte especially the barbecue on the beach which was devine. All in all a very nice resort, in which the majority of the staff work exceptionally hard to make your stay enjoyable and carefree and it would have had five stars if the rest of the rooms, ours included, was five star. Highly recommend.

We holidayed at the Fodele Beach August 2025. The main pool area is very busy but fun if you have young kids, good luck trying to get a bed near the man pool. The beach is amazing, the first few metres into the water is full of stones after that its great and fun in the waves when it’s a bit windy. It does feel at times it’s a bit crowded when going for food but that’s if you go at the most popular times 19:00 – 20:15 but outside of these times its good food with plenty of choice. Our room (36?)was ok, a bit dated but it had what we needed, in fact my opinion is the apartment needed a revamp but it was kept clean and serviced well. The newer rooms would be far better down by the lower pool. Car hire was easy and not very expensive. We had a good holiday at the Fodele Beach, it was fun. However! for those of you with young girls please be aware one member of staff around 25 yrs old took an unhealthy interest in our 16 yr. old girl (she repeatedly told him she was only 16 and showed her underage wrist band) , he approached her a few times, once when she was alone and even offered to take her off site and asked for physical contact. My daughter was very scared and reported this to me. I consequently reported this to hotel management and he was suspended for the duration of our stay there. The management did well, however the said individual was targeting young girls during the evening entertainment looking for opportunities, I personally witnessed this predatory behaviour, so while your having a great time drinking excellent cocktails be mindful of where your young girls are. This issue negatively affected our stay, the management gave us some free day beds and some spa treatments ( we didn’t take these up) to apologise for this. The Fodele Beach is a great place and they cannot keep their eye on all staff, hopefully our reporting this has helped to improve matters regarding staff and clients.
