Ken River Lodge

The hotel is badly maintained, the grounds are unkempt, rats ran across the bar and perched on the glasses while we were having drinks and drinks glasses in the bar were coated with dust & grime & heaven knows what else. I thought Pugdundee prided themselves on the quality of safari but guides kept giving wrong information! Would never return.

My friends and i had a wonderful stay at Ken River Lodge . True to its word there is Ken river flowing right outside your balcony . Rahul and his team took absolute care of us . We reached at 11 30 pm in the night and he waited to welcome us and served us a warm dinner. Right from the river boat ride with bird watching to jungle safaris and the stay at Jhirna mud lodge was all immaculately planned. The transport arranged to Khajurao temple and viewing the Dance festival was a treat. The food too though was a buffet but we could order our own dishes too which they could prepared. Would definitely recommend and will visit again with my husband and children.

We have been travelling in India for 2 weeks and have stayed in some excellent hotels. However these hotels have all been in cities so it was a pleasant change to be out in the countryside with the sound of birds and away from the traffic. Ken River Lodge as the name suggests is on the southern side of the Ken River. Our accommodation was a large lodge perched 15 feet above ground level (the river floods in the wet season) with a large bedroom complete with a huge bed adjoining dressing room, a bathroom and a lovely balcony/ terrace overlooking the river. Breakfast is served at your table in a large tree house restaurant as is dinner after you have eaten your starters in front of your own fire pit. The video which plays each night is not great especially after the first viewing but is apparently due to be replaced. We had an excellent early morning boat ride (3,500 for 1.5 hours ) for 2 people. The river was like a mirror in every direction with lots of birds so bring binoculars. We did a safari in the Panna Safari Park which was ok. There are apparently Tigers but we didn’t see any but did see a Sloth Bear. The walk around the lodge grounds is very pleasant if you have an hour or two to spare.

The location on the Ken river was superb...the cottages large and comfortable. Evenings by the campfire were delightful, not to mention the snacks and meals...all excellent. All the staff were polite and friendly and well trained, which is what makes all the difference.

Very Good Property. River view from the room was picturesque. This provided tranquility and serenity within us. Excellent Location, Excellent Hospitality and the service staff were so soft spoken and attendent was always ready to cater to your need . Excellent Food - Wide choice of food suiting to to your pallet. Island Dinner sugested by Lodge was very good suggestion, it was an exceprional experience. This is something one should not miss during stay at Ken River Lodge. They do it so well, it will surely be a memorable experience. Will repeat out visit soon.

We 3 stayed in a family cottage. 3 nights. Surrounded by the forest. Blissful. A sitout in the side let us toast in the morning and afternoon sun. Cottages well appointed. Good linen, firm beds, excellent heaters. Toiletries adequate. Fire place in the common area in the cottage was a bonus for an after dinner soak. Good food, attentive Lovendra Singh looked after all of dietary requirements. The Machan dining area was on the Ken or Karnavati river. A great views. Bonfire with snacks every evening and a great documentary on Panna plays every evening. A must see. The Lodge has its safari arrangements we took the night one. Enchanting forest. Our other safari s were through Mihir Mahajan . Rahul at the reception was very attentive as well. Kudos to all the support staff for making a great trip magical.
