Mateus Boutique Hotel

Mateus Boutique Hotel was a real gem in all respects in the heart of Panaji in the famous Fontainhas area. Right from calling them direct and talking to the lady in charge of reservations and overall supervision of the place Mrs. Cleta Fernandes to the other three members onsite, the warmth, care and hospitality was impeccable going over and beyond the call of the hospitality industry. The place has been beautifully refurbished retaining the old world charm and giving it a classic and quiet guest house feel with the well annointed nine rooms as opposed to a modern multi room and busy hotel. The place has a quiet dignity and feel to it. Mrs. Fernandes, was an epitome of genuine hospitality. When she heard that I felt that one of the lights above the bathroom mirror was dim she followed up and had it changed. Mr. Ashpak, the Manager onsite was wonderful in his quite and helpful manner and very respectful and friendly. Surya, the housekeeping staff member was very good in his friendly manner. Krishna, the breakfast chef/housekeeping member was good and friendly too. The entire team made Mateus feel genuinely a home away from home. They all combinedly treated you like a close relative come home to them. Need I say more!

Mathes is a 150-year-old Portuguese hotel located in the heart of Panjim. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. All the furniture and decor were antique, which enhanced the heritage feel of the place. We booked three rooms for our family, and we all truly enjoyed our stay. The staff were courteous and very welcoming. Highly recommended!

Mateus Boutique is perfectly located in the beautiful Portuguese quarter of Panjim. The staff is extremely helpful, easy going and nice. We stayed in the upper floor, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. We were 4 friends in two rooms and we were super happy about our stay. The only negative was related to cleaning; i.e. changing bed linens and emptying trash cans etc., but that's easy to fix.

We had a great stay and the property is located very close by the commercial places and casinos. The staffs are very friendly and accepted our request on late check out by few hours. The only problem we had was the food as we were expecting south indian food.

Great place, love the location, the old architecture, the house as such, very large size of the room, nicely decorated and staff was great. Living in a home from the past from the colonial times , even if just for few days, is a privilege. Highy recommend.

Great place nice staff beautiful room very clean bathroom room smelled nice overall really nice experience room also has small refrigerator which was perfect to store food and drinks they also has tv in the room for chilling enjoyed my stay with them Cheers
