PALAZZO CARTARI

We ended our three week tour of Sicily here for two nights in an upgraded king suite and were pleased. The hotel is brand new and was very modern throughout. Chiara and the front desk were very helpful with anything we needed. Breakfast was very nice and housekeeping thorough. We found the location perfect to walk to everything we wanted to see. Highly recommend.

Palazzo Cartari is an upscale hotel in an excellent location. Just one block from the Corso and a couple of blocks from the intersection of the Corso and Via Roma. On a side street with reduced noise but minutes from the main avenues. Very central for walking tours. Relatively new, consequently few reviews. We stayed three nights to tour Palermo before going back to the airport for a car. The hotel is tastefully modern. We had the luck of an upgrade to a suite so we can't speak for a standard room, but found the room well appointed and spacious. Staff was welcoming and attentive. The restaurant, where we ate one night, is actually very good. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely recommend this hotel for its price range. (One non-hotel warning: Note that if you take a taxi from the airport the taxi drivers are likely to set the meter at a higher rate so the fair reaches 70-80 Euros rather than the normal 50 Euros. The hotel will reserve a taxi to the airport for you with known drivers with a fixed rate of 50 Euros.)

The hotel is wonderful and very clean. Room was beautiful. Very comfortable bed. Location is ideal. Ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful. Breakfast was great. We had a room facing the piazza and street. The noise level at all hours of the night did not make for a good sleep. We were awoken constantly by cars and people coming home from bars shouting. It was impossible to get any sleep even with ear plugs. This is not the fault of the hotel as this can’t be controlled, but you should ask for a room at the back of the hotel so you could get a decent sleep.

Located very centrally, this is a very modern hotel with some nice facilities. The room was very spacious (we stayed in a suite) and modern. Bathtub and separate shower well received as was the smart TV. If I were to return to Palermo, I would stay here again.

My husband and I spent 6 wonderful days at this location. Our room, which was upgraded free of charge, was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The modest size of the hotel offered us a level of attention that felt very welcoming and personal. All of the staff is friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with many various options. The restaurant was also wonderful with a limited but excellent menu. Located in the Historic center of Palermo enabled having just about all of the points of interest within easy walking distance. We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Palermo.

What a pleasure to find a modern clean hotel in the middle of this city and we'll situated. All the reception staff were charming and helpful. The only negative was breakfast where the staff did their best but were doing two or three jobs at once. So there was no one in the kitchen for non buffet requests. Otherwise great stay Warning whilein Palermo ( nothing to do soyth the hotel). Uber is dishonest. For instance they quoted e13=18 for a trip but immediately charged e18. Them the next day an extra debit of e10. On complaing they reluctantly agreed to refund 10, but only as a credit in Italy.

There were so many options to choose from and almost all had positive and negative reviews. I was so uncertain so filtered on high end hotels. The Good: The most amazing breakfast Super clean Friendly staff ( See picture) So close to everything. When I say close, less the 5 minutes to the main street. 10 from one market and 20 at most to the main market. The only surprise was coffee in the room is not free. €2 per pod.

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Palazzo Catari which is centrally located and nicely appointed. The highlight however was the warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful reception desk staff; they shared our pleasure when our missing bag was located and guided us on using the train to return to the airport. The breakfast buffet offered numerous options including the most delicious scrambled eggs prepared by chef Silvio. We definitely recommend the Palazzo Catari when visiting Palermo.

We had an excellent stay in this newly opened Hotel (I think it was only open 6 weeks when we stayed). It was our first visit to Palermo; we really wanted to stay in that part of town and secured a great rate and deal. We rarely like to take half board but the deal was particularly attractive so we booked same and ate their on 2 evenings (including the night we arrived) and on Sunday lunch. The food was really good and service was friend. A lovely touch was a complimentary glass of sparkling wine at the start of the meal and the amuse bouche (prawn in the shape of a fish) was really lovely. The restaurant is also the dining room for Breakfast. Reception was truly helpful. From check in to departure; seeking help for bookings, rain avoidance (umbrellas!) and securing a hair appointment - nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms (bedroom; bathroom; sitting room which contained a self contained kitchen) were very spacious and well equipped. We had 3 little balconies with windows/doors which could be fully opened for fresh air and people watching. The tea and coffee setup was good (with a kettle provided on request). One suggestion I would make regarding the space is to provide a guide to the electrics/lighting as they are not obvious or user friendly (ie: if the light in bathroom left on for use during the night, the fan noise was loud and interfered with sleep). But overall we found the rooms very suitable for what we needed. The only real 'criticism' (which we shared with the reception team as we checked out) is that there isn't really any public space/place to chill out in the hotel. There is a tiny bar in the restaurant but it isn't really useable to eg: sit and have a coffee and do an hours work. What Palazzo Cartari is providing in Palermo is unique and a lovely addition to the present accommodation offerings (I had done a huge amount of research on Palermo in advance). I would recommend it. Palazzo Cartari was a really good 'mini break' in the midst of a 7 week inter railing adventure.
