Paje Beach Apartments & Hotel

What a great hotel, highly recommend staying here if in Zanzibar. Rooms lovely, clean and airy, staff wonderful so helpful and friendly, food amazing. It's directly on the beach and next door to buccaneer diving which I can also highly recommend.

I have just returned from Paje Beach Apartments in Zanzibar. What a wonderful holiday. The beach is probably one of the best in the world, and the ambiance is awesome. Our room was delightful, well-equipped, clean, and secure. The staff are tuned into the friendly vibe of this hotel and cannot do enough to help. I had a fresh omelet for breakfast most mornings, but there are other healthy and fruity options available. On the coast of Zanzibar, it is a must to eat fish as often as you can. Paje Beach Apartments' restaurant does not let you down, the restaurant is well-run and turns out many excellent local and international dishes. The Swahili night is well worth a visit. We specifically chose these apartments as they are connected to Buccaneer Diving. I have not dived on the coast of Zanzibar before, so I was not sure what to expect, but I can assure any diver it is well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and did anything to make sure my trip was enjoyable. If you are heading to Zanzibar a few nights' stay at Paje Beach Apartments will be memorable and I can assure you a very enjoyable experience. If you are a diver then it is a must. The well-trained staff and captains are on hand to help and make sure each dive is a success. My son's girlfriend took the open water course whilst we were there. Her instructor, Baker, was very careful to ensure that she felt comfortable and relaxed at all times. He went the extra mile to ensure her course was enjoyable, fun, and most importantly professionally run. Overall an excellent stay in a very friendly resort.

We came back to Zanzibar for our 25th wedding anniversary. The island has changed a lot and is much busier now, as to be expected. We stayed in a double room at Paje Beach Apartments and Hotel. The room was large with a very big comfortable bed and air conditioning. The room was cleaned each day and at night the mosquito net was put in place around the bed and the room sprayed for mosquitoes. We didn’t notice any mosquitoes. The room has direct access onto the pool with the bar and restaurant just beyond and the sea beyond that We could see the sea from our bed.

rojer the bartender was amazing his coctails were delicious! anuar the waiter was also amaizng so helpful! the food is delicious such good quality for money a lovely atmosphere overall with music and the sea breeze!

I came to Paje Apartments with my family and friends for winter holidays. We had rented 5 different rooms so I had a chance to see most of the apartments. +\- The rooms are big, all with fridge, quite comfy beds however the look of the rooms is really simple. The furniture looks as they have been collected from different places and in different times. Nothing really matches each other . Its hard to feel warm and friendly atmosphere in the rooms. Some of the beds are really used and old so once you lay down and move (even a bit) you hear the creaking of the bed😂 +\- Bathroom looks nice , however none of the sinks was attached to the tables. We had to gently use it not to break it. Showers were ok. There is problem with the smell of the water. I font know of its a matter of the hotel or the “city” but the water smells extremely ;( - !! The biggest problem was the breakfast! It was horrible!! I had never ever experienced worst breakfasts than here. Everything on the dinning was dirty!! Staring from plates for the guests, cups but also pots for honey or fruits. Food was covered with some extremely dirty and damaged fabric which was supposed to protect the food from the insects. In real the insects were inside the pots or fruits. The stuff had a problem with finding spoons or bowls. They had only 4 bowls for the whole restaurant and 1 spoon! Each day something was missing either fruits or vegetables. + reception stuff. Very positive, helpful and always smiling +\- Housekeeping- ok. Some of the ladies were really nice, always with smile. Little problem with towels - not every time all of the missing towels were brought to our rooms. We had to call that we are missing towels and after 5-10 min they were being delivered. +\- beach bar- very good. Nice drinks. Good happy hour offers + restaurant - very positive. Serving good food for well price. - Swimming pool- with very dirty water. You could barely see your feet! The hotel has a diving center and each day there were courses in the pools. A lot of chemicals were poured into the water each evening- so all our swimming suits are damaged and green from chemicals. + location- very very good. Beautiful beach. Close to good restaurants Overall the stay was positive and safe! If the management will take more care of the cleaning and breakfasts than the apartments can be a good option.
