My husband and I booked into Ruxley Rooms in July 2022 for 8 days. The room was abysmal, classed as a "double room" it was barely 9 feet by 10 feet. It was cramped, dirty and it smelled. There were no towels, no hot water, no wi-fi, no breakfast, all which were advertised as available. The staff were of no use whatsoever. When we complained the "manager" said, quote: "Well, there's a double bed!" Getting out of the room had to be negotiated as the door scraped the corner of the bed. Luckily we did not bring our suitcases into the room because there simple WAS no room to put them ANYWHERE! When we complained there was no hot water the manager said, (again a direct quote): "The whole building is without hot water!" As if this was a satisfactory explanation. Because of the late hour we were forced to stay the night. We left first thing in the morning. Nor were we able to secure a refund despite the atrocious conditions and the blatant fraudulent claims about the "hotels" amenities. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
